Yes! Yes! Yes! One Simple Breathing Technique that may prolong your Life!
Marco here! Be Alive! Check this out...
In a recent six-year study conducted on over 2800 men from Copenhagen, Denmark, scientists discovered that the resting heart rate has a whole lot to do with the length of our lives. Ancient yogis knew this too, when they pointed to elephants and other large mammals with slow breathing rates and slow-beating hearts that lived to be over 100. Conversely, animals like dogs and squirrels live short lives because their hearts beat faster and their resting heart rates are often higher.
Our resting heart rate is an indication of many important vital functions in the body, including our ability to regulate important endocrine secretions to balance hormones, and also to ensure the health of the autonomic nervous system.
The typical resting heart rate (RHR) is around 60-100 beats per minute, and while exercise has shown to lower the RHR over time, the new study from Denmark is showing that despite our attempts to stay young by racking up the miles on a tread mill, a high resting heart rate can kill us sooner rather than later. Read on folks... Oh! And try the breathing technique in the video below.

6 Breathing Exercises to Help You Relax: You Need this!

Hey, Marco here. Here's a few tips on relaxation breathing. I'm sure we could all use this! Don’t wait until fight or flight kicks in before minding your breath. Controlled breathing not only keeps the mind and body functioning at their best, it can also lower blood pressure, promote feelings of calm and relaxation and help us de-stress.
1. Sama Vritti or “Equal Breathing”
How it’s done: Balance can do a body good, beginning with the breath. To start, inhale for a count of four, then exhale for a count of four — all through the nose, which adds a natural resistance to the breath. Got the basic pranayama down? More advanced yogis can aim for six to eight counts per breath with the same goal in mind: calm the nervous system, increase focus and reduce stress.. Read on!

Conscious breathing
And what is Yogic Breathing? (Pranayama)
Pranayama is loosely translated as prana (pra-aana) or breathe control. Breathing affects our state of mind. It can make us excited or calm, tense or relaxed. It can make our thinking confused or clear. In the ancient yogic tradition, air is the primary source of life force, a psycho-physio-spiritual force that permeates the universe. Yogic breathing is used in yoga as a separate practice to help clear and cleanse the body and mind. It oxygenates the lungs by getting rid of enormous quantity of carbon dioxide and other toxic gases. It is also used in preparation for asana, the practice of yogic postures and meditation, to help maximize the benefits of the practice, and focus the mind. Remember, we are always focusing, but are we focusing on the right things...

THE #1 THING YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR HEALTH RIGHT NOW!
BREATHE! Yes, of course we all breathe, but when I speak of breathing, I mean the quality of the breath and the versatility of the breathing. Can you breathe fully and deeply with ease? Can you adapt and control your breathing in any situation? Are you aware of the changes that occur to your body when you breathe in a particular way? Can you breathe yourself into a state of relaxation? How do you breathe when you're stressed? Are you breathing right now? LOL! Correct breathing utilizes the entire lung capacity in a relaxed manner without strain, struggle or force. Incorrect is shallow and erratic. You certainly won't stay healthy breathing this way. So... I've read this awesome book, actually several books, but this one you can read right here, right now! Learn to breathe!

NORMAL BREATHING?

“The perfect man breathes as if he is not breathing” Lao-Tzu, circa 4th century BC.
Hey, it's Marco! Just when I thought I had this "Breathing" thing down, someone comes along and burst my bubble! Over 90% of modern people suffer from breathing problems, such as chest breathing, mouth breathing, and hyperventilation (breathing more than the medical norm). All these abnormalities reduce oxygen levels in body cells and promote chronic diseases. We can find solid medical evidence testifying that sick people have too heavy automatic breathing at rest... You're gonna want to visit this site!

When Is Breathing More Than Just Breathing?
Special "Thanks" to Karen Van Ness!
Hey, it's Marco! Most people think of breathing as merely a mechanical process
involving the airways and lungs. But it is so much more than that!
The lungs are the functional organs of respiration, as they are responsible for the active function of breathing and ventilation. So we naturally focus on them when we think about our breathing.
However, many breathing and energy practices embrace breathing as an activity that involves the entire body. This is true on a number of levels. From a physical standpoint, respiratory movement extends into
the extremities. Also, breathing has a significant influence on all the physiological functions of the body. Breathing can also directly influence your mental and emotional state. Take the time to breathe deeply and gently for several cycles. It only takes a few deep, gentle breaths - in through the nose,
out through the nose - to "feel" your breath moving throughout your abdominal area. Now feel that you are breathing into your lower back. Gently, slowly, breathe into any areas of tightness from too much
sitting (like I'm doing right now to relax my back). Next, stand up and take a few deep, gentle breaths all the way down into your feet. Breathe in energy and lightness;
breathe out fatigue and stress. "Feel" yourself breathing in that energy and lightness through the top of your head. Feel yourself exhaling the fatigue and stress through the soles of
your feet. If you're game, take it one step further: "feel" yourself breathing in energy and lightness through every pore in your body, and into every body part - so you feel like you are
absorbing air from all over your body, not just through your nose. As you inhale, feel the air permeate into the deepest parts of your body. As you exhale, "feel" yourself exhaling fatigue and stress
through every pore in your body. See the old, stale air move out like smoke or steam and dissipate directly into the air around you. Each of these stages of breathing provides a slightly different
feeling and effect. When you have practiced this way for sometime, you will begin to truly understand that breathing is a deep physiological process, not just a mechanical process. Couple this understanding with a few minutes of practice each day and you'll be blessed with greater health and energy
I know you can do it, but will you?
Stay healthy!

STUFFY NOSE? Do This...
DON'T BREATHE THRU YOUR MOUTH!
Nose breathing 24 hours a day is extremely important for those who desire the longest and most healthy life... So, learn to breathe like a baby! Most babies breathe properly! Thru the nose, into the belly and out thru the mouth...
The lungs are a primary source of our energy level. They extract oxygen from the air we breathe primarily on the exhale. Because the nostrils are smaller then the mouth, air exhaled through the nose creates back pressure when one exhales. It slows the air escape so the lungs have more time to extract oxygen from them. When there is proper oxygen-carbon dioxide exchange, the blood will maintain a balanced pH. If carbon dioxide is lost too quickly, as in mouth breathing, oxygen absorption is decreased. Also, when mouth breathing, the brain thinks carbon dioxide is being lost too quickly and sensing this, will stimulate the goblet cells to produce mucous, slow the breathing and cause constriction of blood vessels. Breathing through the nose also limits air intake and forces one to SLOW down. Proper nose breathing reduces hypertension and stress for most people. And we can all use less stress!
