Why You Should Always Look On The Bright side

Do you tend to look on the sunny side, or do you see a future filled with dark, stormy skies? A growing body of research suggests that having a positive outlook can benefit your physical health. NIH-funded scientists are working to better understand the links between your attitude and your body. They’re finding some evidence that emotional wellness can be improved by developing certain skills. Research has found a link between an upbeat mental state and improved health, including lower blood pressure, reduced risk for heart disease, healthier weight, better blood sugar levels, and longer life. But many studies can’t determine whether positive emotions lead to better health, if being healthy causes positive emotions, or if other factors are involved.

“Never go back.” What does that mean? From observations of successful people, clinical psychologist and author of Never Go Back: 10 Things You'll Never Do Again (Howard Books, June 2014), Dr. Henry Cloud has discovered certain “awakenings” that people have—in life and in business—that once they have them, they never go back to the old way of doing things. And when that happens, they are never the same. In short, they got it. -

Ten, Yes, Ten Steps to Happier Living. Yay !!

Action for Happiness has identified 10 keys to happier living, based on an extensive review of the latest research about what really helps people flourish. These are not “10 commandments”, because each of us is unique and what works for one of us may not for someone else. They are simply 10 areas that tend to make a big difference to people’s happiness - and crucially they are all areas that are within our control.

What the Hell is a "Purpose" anyway? Wanna find out?

Marco here.. When you are inspired by a great purpose, everything will begin to work for you. Inspiration comes from moving back in-spirit and connecting to the seven faces of intention. When you feel inspired, what appeared to be risky becomes a path you feel compelled to follow. The risks are gone because you are following your bliss, which is the truth within you. This is really love working in harmony with your intention. Essentially, if you do not feel love, you do not feel the truth, and your truth is all wrapped up in your connection to Spirit. This is why inspiration is such an important part of the fulfillment of your intention to live a life on purpose. Looks as though I need to start practicing what I've been preaching all these years..

Why Rejection Is A Good Lesson To Experience

Every now and again we all experience some form of rejection. Sometimes it is from our family members, a love relationship, friends, job, sales or just from society in general.

I feel rejection is a good lesson to have because it allows you the opportunity to re-evaluate your values and what you stand for. Will you cave in and give in to other people's opinion of you? Or will you stand firm in your self belief and convictions even as others reject you?

Most people cave in under pressure, and most of the time they walk away thinking they are not good enough and allow the rejections to pull them down.

So it is not surprising that fear of rejection is one of the biggest reasons why people are afraid to go into the sales industry. I think we all over identify with the act of rejection, we take it all too personally.

As predictable as life can be, there are only two ways of looking at things in the world, either in a positive or negative light.

If we see rejection as a bad thing and fear doing what we need to do, then we will never know and will forever be hiding from our highest potentials.

However if rejection is seen as a shaper of our potentials, it can really open up doorways for us in ways we might have never thought before.

Do what you have to, should do, want to as if it is the last day of your life, and you will see rejection in a different light.

Barry Schwartz: The paradox of choice

Psychologist Barry Schwartz takes aim at a central tenet of western societies: freedom of choice. In Schwartz's estimation, choice has made us not freer but more paralyzed, not happier but more dissatisfied. This dude is right on the money!

Ten Ways To Remove Negative Energy. Really!

Have you ever come away from a conversation with a friend feeling down, empty or alone, in spite of being in a good mood at the beginning of the discussion? Do you find that you are more concerned with the drawbacks of doing something than actually doing it? Or, does the thought of going into your office make you feel sick?  If you said yes to any of these questions, you are most likely in the presence of negativity.

Negativity is all around us and doesn’t always present itself in an obvious way. Is a matter of fact, there are three sources from which negativity usually breeds: Negativity in your relationships, negativity within yourself and negativity within your environment.  Whether you are receiving it from one or all sources, here are some things you can do to reduce the negativity in your life:

The 50 Best Quotes on Self Love

The biggest struggle in life is the struggle to know, embrace, and accept ourselves, with all of our faults and imperfections. Many of us were raised  by parents who were themselves victims - who were not taught to see their own worth, or who were not really seen by their own parents. Our grandparents generation faced massive trauma and upheaval due to the Secind World War and the Great Depression. The focus was on survival and minimizing the damage, rather than on love, appreciation and intimacy. Parents today face the challenges of long commutes, longer working hours, and global economic uncertainty. These stresses can beat us down, or make us build walls around oursrelves that are so dense that even our spouses and children can't get in. Yet, there is another way.

THE CURE FOR THE SEVEN DISEASES!

Again, All Are Attitudes...

1) The cure for self-centeredness
Empathy: Being understanding and considerate of the feelings of others - kindness, giving, service, generosity, unselfishness. Winning in life by helping others win.
2) The cure for boredom
O.Y.B.: Getting Off Your Butt. Seeing the possibilities and the opportunities that surround us every day. Do something new, learn something new, create something new, go somewhere new. Help someone. Feed your mind. "You are what you are because of what goes into your mind" - Zig Ziglar.
3) The cure for self-pity
Acceptance: Life is hard and not always fair. Accept the fact that bad things happen to good people and vice-versa. Suffering, pain, and loss are part of life. Deal with it. The world does not adjust to us; we adjust to it. In The Road Less Traveled, F. Scott Peck writes, "Life is a series of problems. Do we want to moan about them or solve them?"
4) The cure for destructive thinking
Constructive thinking: Choosing thoughts that build up rather than tear down. Remember that the mind is like a garden - it has to be weeded (pulling out the negative thoughts) and nourished (stimulating growth through positive thoughts). Most of all, it means being thankful for all that you have.
5) The cure for dishonesty
Integrity: Being a complete person. With it comes a sense of fulfillment and inner peace. Honesty also earns the respect and trust of others. There's a direct relationship between the values you live out and the degree of happiness you find in your life.
6) The cure for resentment
Forgiveness: You first have to let go; leave old hurts in the past rather than allowing them to drag you down in the present. Forgiveness is a sign of strength, not one of weakness. "You practice forgiveness for two reasons. One is to let others know that you no longer wish to be in a state of hostility with that person; and two, to free yourself from the self-defeating energy of resentment" - Wayne Dyer.
7) The cure for discouragement
Perseverance: Determination, persistence. Learning from our mistakes; correcting course, moving on with life. "If I were asked to give what I consider the single most useful bit of advice for all humanity it would be this: Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life, and when it comes, hold your head high, look it squarely in the eye, and say, 'I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me' " - Ann Landers.

LAUGHTER REALLY IS THE BEST MEDICINE!

Humor is infectious. When laughter is shared, it binds people together and increases happiness and intimacy. Laughter also triggers healthy physical changes in the body. Humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress.

Laughter is a powerful antidote to stress, pain, and conflict. Nothing works faster or more dependably to bring your mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Humor lightens your burdens, inspires hopes, connects you to others, and keeps you grounded, focused, and alert. And it's funny too!
Laughter!

CAT PHILOSOPHY SCHOOL OR CHASING HAPPINESS!

There was an old wise cat and a small kitten in an alleyway. The old cat saw the kitten chasing its tail and asked, “Why are you chasing your tail?”
To it the kitten replied, “I’ve been attending cat philosophy school and I have learned that the most important thing for a cat is happiness, and that happiness is located in my tail. Therefore, I am chasing it: and when I catch it, I shall have happiness forever.”
Laughing, the wise old cat replied, “My son, I wasn’t lucky enough to go to cat philosophy school, but as I’ve gone through life, I too have realized that the most important thing for a cat is happiness, and indeed that it is located in my tail.  The difference I’ve found though is that whenever I chase after it, it keeps running away from me, but when I go about my business and live my life, it just seems to follow after me wherever I go.”

Take a moment to imagine the life that would bring you a sense of success and happiness. Hold that picture in your mind and soon you will find that you don’t need to chase after success and happiness, because as you live the life that you’ve imagined for yourself, those things will follow close behind. Remember, if you want a happier life, just be happy...

Sonja Lyubomirsky - The How of Happiness

Happiness! How do you get it and how can you keep it?! Wanna find out? Read the Book! "The How of Happiness!" Doo eet! Doo eet now! We live in a very ungrateful society today. This all breeds the negativism that we see all to well, every day and every where. There have been some very interesting scientific studies done in recent past, on this very subject. These are scientific proofs, that negativism, and all the other bad stuff that are associated with it, are detrimental to your health. You want to grow up into a mean old person, (Like my Step Mom!) barking out negativity and sarcasm, wherever you go, not having any friends or family members that want to be around you, and shortening your life, then continue on the road you’re traveling. Stop reading this blog post right now, and go out and yell and complain to someone... Remember, happiness is a choice! Happy today, no drugs tomorrow... but then again, there are some drugs that can make one very happy! But these drugs will kill you and also fill Big Pharma's pockets with your hard earned ca$h! And why would you need a pill to make you happy? Happiness is not an external thing... it's an internal thing that you were born with! You just forgot where you put it! It's still in there! Let it out sometimes! Or all the time!
