Two Reasons Not to trust the FDA. Just two?

Reason #1 More than Half of the Experts are Financially Motivated
According to USA Today, more than half of the experts hired by the FDA to advise the government on the safety and effectiveness of medicines have direct financial relationships with the pharmaceutical companies who will either be helped or hurt by FDA approval. A USA Today analysis of financial conflicts of interest shows the following, based on 159 FDA advisory committee meetings:
92% of the meetings had at least one member who had a financial conflict of interest.
At 55% of advisory meetings, at least half, sometimes more among the FDA advisers, had conflicts of interest.
At 102 meetings dealing with the fate of a given drug, 33% of the experts in attendance had a financial conflict
Historically the FDA revealed when these financial conflicts were present, but these conflicts have been kept secret since 1992.

WHAT THE HELL IS "FARM WASHING?"

farm·wash·ing (noun): A marketing technique used by some industrial food producers in which idyllic images of farming are deployed to create misleading messages about how their products are made.

In recent years more and more consumers have expressed distrust with the way most of our food is grown, processed, and handled before we eat it. Many people have even taken to growing their own food to ensure that it is organic, or grown without use of chemical alteration. In addition, many companies have also tried to capitalize on this movement by using more organic ingredients and presenting themselves as green companies. Some of these claims are valid but some, however, consist of little more than companies trying to present themselves as users of organic ingredients when in actuality they are just using the organic movement as a marketing ploy. This is referred to as farmwashing.

Save the Orangutan. Stop Using Palm Oil!

Borneo and Sumatra are two of the most bio-diverse regions of the world, yet they have the longest list of endangered species. This list includes the magnificent orangutan. These two South-East Asian islands are extremely rich in life, containing around 20,000 flowering plant
species, 3,000 tree species, 300,000 animal species and thousands more being discovered each year. Despite this amazing biodiversity and delicate web of species, an area the size of 300 football fields of rainforest is cleared each hour in Indonesia and Malaysia to make way for the production of one vegetable oil. That's 6 football fields destroyed each minute. This vegetable oil is called palm oil, and is found in hundreds of the everyday products, from baked goods and confectionery, to cosmetics and cleaning agents... many of which you buy in your weekly shopping.

Say NO to Palm Oil! Please!

Fluoride: Why You Must Use It. Seriously?

What's the deal with fluoride anyway? Ever wondered why most major municipal water utilities across the US continue to artificially fluoridate public water supplies when inexpensive fluoride toothpastes are readily available for those who choose to use them? Duh! Why do governments and medical groups continue to force fluoridated tap water on the public in spite of the fact that it has many known and proven health risks? I wanna know! These and many other pertinent questions find their answers in the hard-hitting documentary Fluoridegate: An American Tragedy, one of the most powerful documentaries ever made about the fluoride fraud.
