Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days is an independent documentary film that chronicles six Americans with diabetes who switch to a diet consisting entirely of vegan, organic, uncooked food in order to reverse disease without pharmaceutical medication.

The six are challenged to give up meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, soda, junk food, fast food, processed food, packaged food, and even cooked food for 30 days. The film follows each participant's remarkable journey and captures the medical, physical, and emotional transformations brought on by this radical diet and lifestyle change. We witness moments of struggle, support, and hope as what is revealed, with startling clarity, is that diet can reverse disease and change lives.

The film highlights each of the six before they begin the program and we first meet them in their home environment with their families. Each participant speaks candidly about their struggle to manage their diabetes and how it has affected every aspect of their life, from work to home to their relationships.

Reason #1 More than Half of the Experts are Financially Motivated
According to USA Today, more than half of the experts hired by the FDA to advise the government on the safety and effectiveness of medicines have direct financial relationships with the pharmaceutical companies who will either be helped or hurt by FDA approval. A USA Today analysis of financial conflicts of interest shows the following, based on 159 FDA advisory committee meetings:
92% of the meetings had at least one member who had a financial conflict of interest.
At 55% of advisory meetings, at least half, sometimes more among the FDA advisers, had conflicts of interest.
At 102 meetings dealing with the fate of a given drug, 33% of the experts in attendance had a financial conflict
Historically the FDA revealed when these financial conflicts were present, but these conflicts have been kept secret since 1992.

Psychotropic Drugs, Mental Illness, and Violent Crimes

Drugs, drugs, drugs people. Before you know it, you will all be on them, that's if you're not already...

Anti-depressants are a much-too-commonly taken drug, prescribed by doctors to many people in our population for a variety of issues not exclusive to the diagnosis “depression”. Their prevalence is not only common, but the numbers of people taking them are on the rise. I hear about children and adults I know, or someone else I know who knows them who are prescribed medications for anti-depressants on a regular basis.
According to the The National Center for Health Statistics, 5% of American 12- to 19-year-old adolescents have been prescribed some type of antidepressant.  In the same age group, an additional 6% of the same age group use meds for ADD and ADHD. That’s about 4 million teens.  About 6% of adults aged 18 to 39 are taking some type of antidepressant.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 62% of Americans from ages 12 and up who are taking antidepressants have done so for 2 or more years; and 14% of those have taken them for 10 years or more.  And these are just the numbers that are reported.

Jon Rappoport says, "As an investigative reporter, I have been tracking and writing about pharmaceutically-caused deaths for 10 years. I have, on numerous occasions, cited Dr. Barbara Starfield's report in the July 26th, 2000, Journal of the American Medical Association, in which she presents the figure of 106,000 deaths per year, in America, as a result of these drugs. I have claimed that the federal government and, in particular, the FDA, are aware of these numbers.
And now the page on the FDA's own website confirms the death toll. Yet, nowhere do we see the FDA taking one shred of responsibility for this ongoing holocaust.
Holocaust? Add up the figures. Medical drugs cause 100,000 deaths in America every year: that means a million Americans are killed every decade.
Understand this very clearly. No medical drug in America can be released for public use until and unless the FDA states it is safe. The FDA is the agency responsible for every such decision on every drug. The buck stops there.
Yes, the FDA has a "special relationship" with the pharmaceutical industry. Yes, the FDA utilizes doctors on their drug-approval panels that have ties to the pharmaceutical industry. But, in the end, it is the FDA official seal that opens the gate and permits a drug to be prescribed by doctors and sold in the US.

For children with some form of diagnosed attention deficit or hyperactivity disorder, prescription amphetamines are either the Second Coming or the Devil’s Brew. Depending on whom you ask, it either helps addled adolescents lead normal lives, or it's a classic pharmaceutical company conspiracy. But if you believe giving powerful forms of speed to children is a new idea, you’re wrong.

OVERMEDICATED! YEP! ONLY IN AMERICA!

Hey, it's Marco! Are we an overmedicated society? Certainly much has been written concerning doctors' tendency over the past four decades to overprescribe antibiotics. Many physicians today worry that bacteria could build up immunities against these drugs, ruining antibiotics' effectiveness in the future. But as they are relatively inexpensive, antibiotics are often favored by physicians. But the expensive overmedication of America really began 12 years ago, when the Federal Drug Administration allowed drug companies to advertise their products on TV. Americans could now diagnose themselves during commercial breaks, and then "ask their doctor" to prescribe the most expensive, no-generic-available wonder drugs. The U.S. is the only industrialized country in the world that allows this practice, and it's not without controversy here. The pro argument is that some individuals who have been quietly suffering from one malady or another can be motivated to find a doctor and obtain medical help. The con argument is that many individuals with only one symptom—which might not necessarily indicate the problem the drug in the TV ad is for—may demand that medication from a physician, who in turn may see no harm in prescribing it.
