Does your Life Suck? Great. got milk? I mean, Saffron.. Huh?

Saffron, a popular Middle Eastern spice, may be effective for treating mild to moderate depression, according to a study in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology (2005;97:281--4).

Depressive disorders affect about 19 million Americans each year. People who are depressed may experience excessive weight loss or gain, sleepiness or insomnia, feelings of worthlessness, decreased pleasure in activities that were once enjoyed, difficulty thinking and concentrating, persistent sad mood, and thoughts of suicide or death. Women are twice as likely as men to develop depression... What does all this mean? Mommy didn't hold me enough, Daddy touched my pee pee... Shut up and quit whining. If you're really depressed, and who isn't these days, have you seen my paychecks.. Then get off your oh, sad, little me ass and get some exercise. Move your butt! Clean something. Go for a run. Are you really "depressed," or just a little run down, over whelmed, tired? Perhaps your life really sucks. Remember, you are responsible for you. Do something about it. Or, do nothing and take your drugs. Your choice.. Dang, I feel better already. See. Happy birthday to me. I think I'm gonna go buy something! Yay! (not really my birthday..)

Saffron: Because depresson is depressing...

Health Benefits Of Magic Mushrooms. Really...

Here's something a little offbeat.  A team of researchers at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine has recently documented a safe, long-lasting way of improving both your life and your personal feelings of well-being: "Shrooms." But I expect you knew that already... and now for the most interesting result: psilocybin produces not only mystical experiences, but joy, happiness, and positive social effects. And it does it for a long time. Remember, a little goes a long way. Oh, and did I mention, they're illegal. Thank you War on Drugs. The "war," should be on alcohol.

Woman! Where's my damn Prozac?

How Pharmaceutical Companies Are Suppressing Data About The Effectiveness And Safety Of Antidepressant Drugs While The FDA Looks The Other Way

We are being lied to.  Our health and safety are being compromised by dangerous antidepressant drugs and the wealthy corporate giants that peddle them.
Just a few weeks ago, an alarming report was released by the acclaimed New England Journal Of Medicine proving once again that the pharmaceutical industry has entirely too much influence in Washington, D.C. and specifically with the Food and Drug Administration.

In short, the report shows the effectiveness of antidepressant drugs has been severely overhyped.  It turns out the pharmaceutical companies that produce antidepressant drugs are publishing the results of only positive clinical trial data in medical journals while suppressing all the negative data.  In cases where negative clinical study data is published, the negative parts are being rewritten to appear positive or simply being omitted altogether.

Hey! aRe YoU Depressed? Turn on the Lights! ??

Disclaimer: This post/article is not intended to provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Views expressed here do not necessarily reflect those of... What a crick of $hit! If you're depressed, do you really want to suck down some drugs that will make you even worse, give you suicidal thoughts and tendencies, anal seepage? (did I spell that right?) Get busy living or get busy dying!

And now, Researchers from the University of Maryland's School of Medicine have determined that just one hour of bright light therapy significantly reduces depression and depressed moods. (So does a good beer! But only one, okay? LOL)

Depressed patients were given one hour of bright light therapy or an hour of dim light therapy as a placebo. The researchers found that the patients given bright light therapy had reductions in their depression scores** ranging from 120% to 130%, using two different depression-testing systems. Read more below...

**Depression score?** Sweet Mother of Abraham Lincoln! What "will" they think of next...
Are you sad? Do you feel worthless? Do you hate your job? Your life? Your spouse? Do you just suck at life? Then get off your ass and move! Do something. What do the commercials say? "Remember, there is hope." F**K hope! Expectation beats hope any day! You're scared of life! No one caused your depression but you! So what does this mean? You, yes you can resolve your depression now. Everybody is depressed? Look around... Are you frikkin' special? There's a life out there. If you are alive, seriously, you can do and become almost anything you want these days. Suck it up, get off your ass and start living! Oh, but I have a chemical imbalance. Mommy didn't hug me enough. I've lost everything... Lame excuses. You want to listen to me bitch about my life? Didn't think so, and neither do I. That's why I handle them. (ok, well most of them.) Life's too short. Go! Be! Do! That'll be $25.

What tha hell is LIGHT THERAPY?

HERE'S A LIST OF DEPRESSION MEDS FOR YA!

Hey, it's Marco! On the road, tryin' to make a buck and doin' my best to find or create the best educational products for preschoolers and elementary children! Ah.. the life of a "Warehouse Guy!" At least it's a job! I should be "thankful" huh? Okay... so my darling, significant other (Wife) and Mommy of my two youngest children, owns the corporation.. my job (ahem) does have it perks! Can't wait to get home! Anyway, here's of list of depression meds that may help you if you believe that you are depressed. Come on, you weren't always depressed right? There are numerous depression medications available, of which all have benefits and risks... but what tha hell! Look at the side effects! You really want anal leakage? Heck, the effects alone should make you want to explore other options! Are you sure you're really depressed? Or are you just afraid of living? As my brother would say, "I'm just sayin!"

Abilify. Abilify is a depression medication that's used in combination with other antidepressants. Abilify is often prescribed to treat mental and mood disorders, but can be used in combination with other medications to treat depression. Possible severe side effects can occur, such as heart failure and stroke when used by elderly patients.
Cymbalta. Cymbalta is prescribed to treat depression and anxiety that may be caused by underlying health conditions, such as arthritis and diabetes. This depression medication may improve mood, appetite and energy level. As with Celexa, this medication may not be beneficial for those under 25 years of age because it may worsen depression symptoms in some people.
Paxil. Paxil is an SSRI depression treatment medication. It may also relieve obsessive-compulsive disorder and panic attacks, as well as a variety of other conditions. Paxil may not be appropriate for people under 25 years of age because it can worsen symptoms in select people.
Prozac. Prozac can treat a number of conditions, including depression. Possible benefits achieved from Prozac can include improved sleep, appetite, mood and energy level. Prozac is another antidepressant medication that may not be suitable for people under 25 years of age.
Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is a depression medication that works by correcting chemical imbalances within the brain. Those taking Wellbutrin must be monitored closely because it is known to cause an increase in suicidal thoughts in certain people.
Zoloft. Zoloft is commonly prescribed to treat panic attacks, depression and other disorders. Zoloft can restore interest in every day living, mood, sleep and energy level. People under 25 years of age must be monitored closely when using Zoloft because it may worsen symptoms in some people.

Best Choice!

Niacin. Niacin (or vitamin B-3) has been a long-standing known cure for chronic depression and anxiety. Unfortunately, most of us have never heard of the potential emotional benefits of Niacin. Though the reason for secrecy surrounding vitamin therapy has a complicated and deep-rooted past, a simple explanation is that natural remedies are not supported by the U.S. medical field.

Why Niacin?

Making a Killing: The Untold Story of Psychotropic Drugging - Full Length

Hey, it's Marco! And you need drugs! Lots of them! And right now! Here's an idea: Think you're depressed? Well, you're not! You're afraid! You're afraid of Life! Your Mind can destroy that depression! Turn that fear, that anxiety, that worry, that hate, that repression, that bitterness, into Love! Just turn to Love! Do this and I promise, your life will turn in a much better direction. Absolutely, positively, guaranteed!

'Through the development of an utterly fraudulent standard of care, psychiatrists and Big Pharma have been making a killing. Psychiatric appointments were once one or two hours long. People talked to them and tried to work their problems out. Now, though, appointments can be as brief as five minutes—and patients virtually always walk out with a diagnosis and either drugs or a prescription for drugs. Big Pharma makes billions of dollars from these prescriptions! This is the story of big money - drugs that fuel a $330 billion psychiatric industry, without a single cure.

PS! Take your niacin! Or at least study the wonderful effect that niacin and orthomolecular medicine has with people who claim to be or are truly depressed...Here's a question for you! When you notice that you're depressed, is the "noticer" depressed? Just a thought...

WHERE'S MY ADDERALL, DAMMIT!

Hey, it's Marco! I personally know way to many people on this stuff! Sad thing is they can't seem to get through the day without it! "Where can I get some!" LOL! Okay, sorry...I know, I know! Anyway, A widespread shortage of the popular ADD pill is distracting a nation of Adderall users. Naturally, it’s all about Big Pharma profits, right? Bringing up the subject of Ritalin or Adderall in a chat with friends, or at a dinner gathering, is often the equivalent of shouting “fire” in a crowded theater. For children with some form of diagnosed attention deficit or hyperactivity disorder, prescription amphetamines are either the Second Coming or the Devil’s Brew. Depending on whom you ask, it either helps addled adolescents lead normal lives, or it's a classic pharmaceutical company conspiracy. But if you believe giving powerful forms of speed to children is a new idea, you’re wrong.

Psychiatric Drugs and Mental Illness

Here are the facts! At least some of them...

■Most people who suffered from a psychotic break (schizophrenia) recovered until the advent of Big Pharma’s psychiatric drugs.
■Bipolar disorder was so rare that only about 1 in 5,000-20,000 people were disabled by it, and nearly all of them recovered—until the drug Lithium came along. Now, 1 out of somewhere between 20 and 50 Americans is diagnosed and drugged for it. It’s now considered a permanent affliction.
■In 2007, the number of disabled mentally ill children had risen 35 times over the number in 1990.
■Until people were drugged for schizophrenia, their life expectancies were the same as anyone else’s. Now, someone given that diagnosis can anticipate losing 25 years off his lifespan. That means a man who could have expected to live a typical span of 78 years in the US today is likely to reach only 53, if he’s treated with antipsychotics.

I'm Sad! Really...

HAS BIG PHARMA SAVED YOUR LIFE? THANK YOU JESUS!

Hey, it's Marco! I take aspirin for the  headaches caused by the Zyrtec I take for the hay fever I got from taking Relenza for my uneasy stomach, from the Ritalin I take for the short attention span caused by the Scopederm Ts I take for motion sickness which I got from the Lomotil for the diarrhea caused by Zenikal for the weight gain. I'm currently taking Paxil for anxiety from the Zocor I take for high cholesterol because exercise, regular Chiropractic care and a good diet are just too much trouble! What? you think I'm gonna change my lifestyle! Hell no! I want a pill! Now, I'm off to get a Flu shot! See! It's easy to stay healthy with drugs! PS...Thinking about adding a few more pharma pills because my liver is shutting down! Wonder what kind of drugs, my doctor has for that? Still can't sleep! What's that? Ambien? Guess I'll have a few of those with a couple of beers to keep me happy because of my suicidal thoughts! Wonder what the pharmacist has for constipation? Gonna have to hire a contractor to install grips on the side of my toilet! And why does my breath stink? No, I don't have memory loss! At least I can't remember if I do...Oh well, don't count the days, I may not have many left! And did I mention that I take aspirin for the headaches...

Beat Depression! Got Love?

Hey, it's Marco! I'm not necessarily pushing these products, however, I do like what these fine folks have to say about depression! Most people choose to be depressed as they are dissatisfied with their lives, the poor choices they've made and obstacles and challenges they feel they have no control over. Everyone feels a little depressed from time to time! Just know this: it doesn't have to be this way! Well, that's easy for me to say, right? I have no problems, no challenges, no financial issues! What a crock! I wouldn't wish my life on anyone! I could easily "give in" to depression, however, I'm in control of my state of mind! I do my best to keep my energy levels up and I do my best to find the best possible solution for all of my concerns! (Doesn't always work, but I would rather be and feel happy than beat myself up or heaven forbid, get hooked on some crappy pharmaceutical crap) You get what you focus on! Go, Be, Do! Exercise! There is always someone out there that is in worse shape, physically, mentally, and financially than you are! Stay tuned...just trying to help! (If I can only help one person thru this blog, not only am I helping them, I'm helping myself!) Is that selfish?? Sure hope not!
