or as Dr. Rob Gilbert taught me: (in 10 words)
Problem: I don't feel like it
Solution: Act different than you feel

How To Get into Shape When You're Really, Really out of Shape.

Every exercise plan begins with a single step. If you are extremely out of shape, focus on short-term goals so that you do not feel overwhelmed. The simplest way to begin a fitness plan is to incorporate walking into your daily life. Set small goals such as parking further from where you work or taking an evening stroll around the neighborhood with family. Use a pedometer to measure the number of steps you walk. After a week, divide the total number of steps by the number of days you walked to get your average number of steps per workout. (You might want to sign up with this guy) Spend the next week slowly adding to your number of steps so that the week totals another 1,000 steps. Your long-term goal should be to walk 10,000 steps per day.

** Note from Marco ** Exercise is work. It elevates your heart rate, makes you somewhat breathless, and causes your muscles to burn. It's tiring—sometimes exhausting. Yes, exercise does get easier with time, but it will never be "easy." If it were easy, it wouldn’t be exercise and everyone would be doin' it. You see, beyond just getting your body moving (which is great but will only get you so far), exercise has to challenge you. You have to work past your comfort zone in order to train your heart, lungs, and muscles to get stronger and fitter. Over time, yes it will become easier to walk at the 3 mph pace you started, but once that becomes easy, it's time to walk faster, which brings me to another cold, hard truth: You have to work harder as you get fitter. Think of it exercise as a challenge to continuously improve on what you just accomplished. Remember, it's the start that stops most people.

FYI... People Today Are Metabolically Less Healthy Than Their Parents

Marco here. Been way busy, so sorry this blog still sucks. Oh well. Love me anyway! OBKB...
Life expectancy at birth rose by a few years for both men and women in the last two decades of the 20th century. This has come at an enormous cost in the quality of life of our elders, for they are suffering with more pain and greater disability than ever before in last 15 years of life. People globally are living longer but chronic debilitating conditions are becoming more prevalent. What does this mean? Get your ass to the gym and start eating real food! Learn to breathe. Have great sex, even if it's by yourself. Relax. Learn yoga. Let go of all the BS in your life. Stop taking things personally. Hate nothing or no one. Hang out with your kids, grand kids, the neighbor's kids, the dog, the Wife, the Husband, do something, move, get a life, read a book, just stop bitchin' and complainin'! Life's too short to live a long nasty life. That'll be $35.00. Just fax over the ca$h. I won't spend it. Ellen! Save me...

6 Little Known Signs of Adrenal Fatigue

Hey, it's Marco! You’d have to be living under a rock not to notice that adrenal problems are at epidemic proportions in our modern culture.  The fact that a Starbucks or some other coffee shop is on practically every corner and that the average American now consumes a whopping 180 lbs per year of refined sugars is surely evidence enough.     By the way, the 180 lbs of sugar per year figure is a shocking 27% increase just since 2003 when sugar consumption was 142 lbs per person per year!

Just in case you're wondering... Here are some tell-tale signs:

* difficulty getting up in the morning, feel terrible in the morning
* needing coffee or energy shots to get going or keep going during the day
* mid-morning energy low
* afternoon energy low between 2-5pm
* second burst of energy at around 11pm lasting until 1-2am
* best sleep comes between 7-9pm
* craving salt and foods high in salt (potato chips, pretzels, etc.)
* low blood sugar under stress
* low blood pressure
* craving sweets
* intolerance to foods high in potassium (i.e. bananas)
* generally don’t feel well throughout the day
* no motivation... shall I keep going?

NEVER BE SICK AGAIN?

 The next major advance in health will be determined by what people are willing to do for themselves. However, willingness is only part of the equation-the other is knowing what to do.
     There is only one disease and there are only two causes of disease: deficiency and toxicity. Cells lacking what they need or exposed to something harmful will malfunction. Unless cells malfunction, there can be no disease. The thousands of different diseases we experience are merely the effects of thousands of combinations of deficiencies and toxicities acting through a combination of inherited genes, the environment, and our beliefs, thoughts, and emotions. Preventing or reversing disease is about preventing and reversing cellular malfunction.
Understanding disease...
