Put Down the Cheetos! How to avoid a Pig Out!


Why do you eat? I know why I do. I love food! And lots of it. That's real food of course. Veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds, home made smoothies, the occasional grass fed burger. Give me some organic french fries to dip in organic vanilla ice cream and I'm a happy camper! However, if you're eating for comfort or eating because you're bored, you're a headed for trouble. We have to eat. Don't believe me, try not eating for a few days. That's what I thought. Well, unless you're fasting and then, um, well, you're fasting. Whatever... Here's the real reason one should eat, slowly, all while chewing your food, unless you're in a big hurry and need to grab a quick pop tart and head out the door. Eat for nutrients such as minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and phytochemicals. Why? To help us stay healthy and disease free and to get plenty of carbs, fats, and protein. Gotta fuel the body. Remember, when you're eating, eat. When you're playing, play. When you're working, work. But lay off the cheeto's. At least for now. Summer's coming. And you know what that means... FUN! Live life. Go! Be! Do! Life's short. Don't make it shorter.
