Eggs! You have choices...

Hey, it's Marco! Are eggs good for you? Some say they are...some say they aren't. What the hell, I'm not giving up my eggs! So, if you see USDA Certified Organic on the carton, you can expect that the rules are being followed. The chickens are treated like royalty! If you see Certified Humane: Raised and Handled, you may want to raise an eyebrow. All this means is that the company gives food and water to its caged hens. Finally, if you see United Egg Producers Certified, run for the hills! These poor hens get on average about 80 square inches of living space. Go with the "Certified Organic!" Now when it comes to purchasing eggs, you only have two choices, color and size. Color is simple, white or brown. This is genetics folks! Some chickens lay white eggs, and others lay brown eggs. Color is the only difference. The nutritional value is the same. However, you'll most certainly pay more for the brown eggs because you are supposed to think that they are more natural or healthier. (Even though you throw out the shells anyway) Oh...don't toss them in the disposal! Still haven't figured that one out yet... Eggs come in small, medium and jumbo which means the nutrient content increases with size. Large egg, more protein, a little more cholesterol. Most recipes call for large eggs, so you have to compensate if you buy other sizes. Six medium eggs are equivalent to five large eggs, four extra large, and three jumbo. The grades--AA, A, or B refer to cosmetic differences. Eggs deteriorate with time, so keep them in the fridge, although I've left them on the counter for hours and still enjoyed them without dying, and use them fairly soon! And while you'll pay more for this convenience, you may also purchase them in the half dozen carton. Which is nice btw, because you can keep them in the car to throw at stray cats in the neighborhood! Or in my case, the mean ole lady across the street! Now you know...

I still got the flu, but my doctor said that it would have been much worse had I not taken the shot! That swine flu could have killed me! Que horrible'! Okay, well, my one son did get really bad fever after the shot and wouldn't eat for days. And then  there was the rash, but that went away after the prescription we used, and my daughter still got chicken pox...

Hey, it's Marco! In the last few years there have been many articles in the newspapers attacking
homeopathy, claiming it contains nothing more than water, ignoring all the positive
studies and saying it works through the placebo effect. CRAP! You mean this stuff doesn't work?? I wish someone would have warned me about this "hairy fairy woo woo myth" years ago. I might be sick, tired, overweight, stressed out and possibly dead by now! I might also be hooked on prescription drugs as well! It's too bad the natural or homeopathic way doesn't work! They have determined that walnuts sold by Diamond Foods cannot be legally marketed because the walnuts “are not generally recognized as safe and effective” for the medical conditions referenced on Diamond Foods’ website. According to the FDA, these walnuts are now classified as “drugs” and the “unauthorized health claims” cause them to become “misbranded,” thus subjecting them to government “seizure or injunction.” WTF! I thought that eating walnuts may actually help cut your heart disease risks! Get this! The U.S. National Library of Medicine database contains 35 peer-reviewed published papers supporting this claim! Gotta love the FDA!

Hey, it's Marco! In yet another example of wasted resources and misplaced priorities police in LA have raided Rawesome Foods, arresting three people in connection with the distribution of raw milk products without the proper permits.

"James was followed from his private residence by law enforcement, and when he entered his store, the raid was launched. Law enforcement demanded that all customers (members) of the store vacate the premises, then they demanded to know how much cash James had at the store. When James explained the amount of cash he had at the store — which is used to purchase product for selling there — agents demanded to know why he had such an amount of cash and where it came from.
James was handcuffed, was NEVER read his rights and was stuffed into an UNMARKED car. While agents said they would leave behind a warrant, no one has yet had any opportunity to even see if such a warrant exists or if it is a complete warrant."

Hey, it's me again...Not to trash milk, I personally don't care for the stuff especially when one has almond and rice milk available, but the more I learn about pasteurized milk, the more I truly believe it to be pure garbage! Unless of course you're a calf. Now I don't know much about this "Rense" guy but I think he's really just trying to help! And he's got a really cool fake moustache! Besides, if you think how powerful Big Dairy is, I'm sure there's a way to torture and manipulate data until it conforms to one's desired result!

Hey, it's Marco! Claims that raw milk is unsafe are based on 40-year-old science and century-old experiences from distillery dairy “factory farms” in rapidly urbanizing nineteenth century America. Got it?

Few people are aware that clean, organic, raw milk from grass-fed cows was actually used as a medicine in the early part of the last century. That's right.
