Christmas Yoga for Beginners with Dashama!

Hey Howdy Hey. Merry Christmas! And a big THANK YOU to Elizabeth Hyndman for this piece!

Saint Nicholas is possibly the most popular saint worldwide, though much of his fan base is largely unaware he is a saint. They know even less about the life of this man who would eventually become a symbol for Christmas.

Nicholas was born sometime around AD 280 in Lycia to wealthy, Christian parents. Not unlike many saints, the tales of Nicholas’ life focus on his goodness. He is said to have shown remarkable piety even from birth. There is at least one account of Nicholas, on the day he was born, standing up and praying to God in the middle of his bath, and there are numerous reports of the infant Nicholas refusing to nurse on days of fasting. It is hardly surprising, then, that from a young age, Nicholas was known to enjoy church and memorizing songs and Scriptures.

When he was still a boy, Nicholas’ parents died in a plague, leaving him with great wealth. He continued in their charitable work, striving to use his money for good. His uncle, the Bishop of Patura, became his guardian and ensured his education in the church. Nicholas was an exceptional student and became a priest at a very young age.

Once, while traveling by sea to Jerusalem, a storm threatened the safety of Nicholas and the ship’s crew. Legend has it that Nicholas prayed to God and immediately the storm was calmed. Upon returning from that trip, he visited a church in Myra. A priest was outside the church waiting. When Nicholas arrived, the priest asked his name. As Nicholas answered, the priest began praising God. He explained that God had told him to wait outside the church and the next person to come by, named Nicholas, would be the new Bishop of Myra. While Nicholas at first humbly refused, claiming unworthiness, he eventually became their Bishop. He was called the Boy Bishop, because of his age, and was supposedly loved by all.

The stories of miracles performed by Nicholas are numerous—increasing grain cargo on a ship in order to feed his people, appearing to an emperor in a dream to save three wrongly accused men, again calming a stormy sea, bringing a drowned boy back to life and many others. It is said that he performed at least 20 miracles in his lifetime.

Two stories of Nicholas are more popular than others, perhaps because of their connection to the image we have of Saint Nicholas today. It is said that during a famine, an innkeeper captured three boys, chopped them up and put them in a barrel of salt water, with plans to eat them. Nicholas somehow found out, imprisoned the innkeeper and brought the boys back to life. Because of the story of this miracle, as well as others, Nicholas gained a reputation of protecting children.

The other popular story is that of a man with three daughters. The man was poor and could not afford dowries for his girls. At the time, this meant they would have to succumb to a life of prostitution. Hearing this, Nicholas dropped a bag of gold down the chimney (or, according to some, threw it in the window) on the night before each girl needed a dowry for marriage. One story says the last bag of gold Nick threw in landed in a sock, hanging to dry above the fireplace. Sound familiar? Another version of the story tells of Nicholas’ request to remain anonymous until after his death.

From these stories, it is easy to see how Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, eventually morphed into the Saint Nick we’re familiar with today. He is the patron saint of children, so the custom arose of giving gifts to children in the name of Saint Nicholas on his feast day, December 6. The Dutch eventually brought this tradition to America. Their name for Saint Nicholas—Sinte Klaas—eventually evolved into Santa Claus.

Saint Nicholas (as well as our modern Santa Claus-version) was known for his generosity, his love of children and his care for the poor. Because of these qualities, and his December death-day, he has become associated with Christmas. It makes sense, given that Christmas is the time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the One who perfected generosity and love for children and the poor.

This Christmas, instead of complaining about Santa Claus taking over, we can strive to remember the life of a man who is known for living out Christ’s love. May we, too, be aware of the needs of those around us and be willing and generous enough to help. Merry Merry Christmas!

“In a sickroom you cannot have a better disinfectant than the onion. It has a wonderful capacity for absorbing germs. A dish of sliced onions placed in a sickroom will draw away the disease; they must be removed as soon as they lose their odor and become discolored, and be replaced by fresh ones.”

Happy Holidays! What centuries of grandmothers have instinctively known is now being confirmed by everyone from modern scientists to naturopathic doctors. Onions may have the ability to ward off and relieve symptoms of the common flu. And in a world where, according to the CDC, many Americans will get the seasonal flu every year, the simple method of boiling onions into a drinkable broth may be a good practice to return to.

The (Honest) Truth About Dishonesty

Hurricane Sandy Shows Clear Evidence We Live In A Giant Chemical Spill

A common industry practice puts consumers at higher risks for eating food contaminated by deadly pathogens -- and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Beef! If acclaimed authors Upton Sinclair (The Jungle), Jeremy Rifkin (Beyond Beef) and John Robbins (Diet for a New America) haven’t given you enough reasons over the last century to be wary of the meat industry, then a year-long investigation by the Kansas City Star may do the trick. The Kansas City Star investigated what the industry calls “bladed” or “needled” beef, and found the process exposes Americans to a higher risk of E. coli poisoning than cuts of meat that have not been tenderized.
Although blading and injecting marinades into meat add value for the beef industry, that also can drive pathogens — including the E. coli O157:H7 that destroyed Lamkin’s colon — deeper into the meat. Stick with organic grass fed beef!

BEEF! Yummy...

I Am Grateful

The way we choose to perceive life makes all the difference. Choose to see life as the gift it is. Be grateful. Be alive. Gratitude opens the door to freedom. Lessoned learned? Stop focusing on what you don't have in your life and focus on what you're grateful for that is in your life. This may just make all the difference in the world... If you're not living the life you want, it's not too late to make a change. And never worry about what people may think as you prepare a better life for yourself. What other's think of you is none of your business.

The 50 BEST Quotes on Self Love!

The biggest struggle in life is the struggle to know, embrace, and accept ourselves, with all of our faults and imperfections. Many of us were raised  by parents who were themselves victims - who were not taught to see their own worth, or who were not really seen by their own parents. Our grandparents generation faced massive trauma and upheaval due to the Secind World War and the Great Depression. The focus was on survival and minimizing the damage, rather than on love, appreciation and intimacy. Parents today face the challenges of long commutes, longer working hours, and global economic uncertainty. These stresses can beat us down, or make us build walls around oursrelves that are so dense that even our spouses and children can't get in. Yet, there is another way.

When we have the courage to let the walls down - to know and embrace ourselves, despite our human failings, we also open the door to connecting in a more caring, empathic, intimate way with the ones we love and with all living things. Our brains are wired for survival, but also for empathy. Please read on...

What's Wrong with our Food!

First they sprayed food with hazardous pesticides and herbicides. Next they genetically modified food to make it more “immune” to diseases. Now they are adding nanoparticles to food to make it “safer” to eat. When will those people learn that by exploiting nature, they are creating more problems that will eventually cause the extinction of many species on Earth.

The companies that are artificially engineering food have bad track records of destroying the ecosystem and our health. The reason why they have bad track records is because they like to exploit nature. When they exploit nature, they are disharmonizing the energy structure that keeps nature in balance. As a result, unforeseen side effects will manifest, causing problems to the ecosystem on Earth. What does this mean to us? Read on...

What in the World Are They Spraying?

Okay, yeah, I'm quite skeptical, but! What if this crap is real? Wake up folks?

"Why in the World are They Spraying?"

Since the release of the groundbreaking documentary “What in the World are They Spraying?”, millions have woken up to the damaging effects from chemtrail/geoengineering programs. As a result, movements around the world are being formed to address these crimes. While many who were previously unaware of these programs are now taking action, the question now that is often asked is “Why” is this happening. Michael J. Murphy, Originator and Co-Producer of “What in the World are They Spraying?” in association with Barry Kolsky have produced “Why in the World are They Spraying?” which will answer that question.

“Why in the World are They Spraying?” is an investigative documentary into one of the many agendas associated with chemtrail/geoengineering programs, “weather control”.

Largest Chicken Pox outbreak in Vigo County, Indiana

Most kids receive a vaccine but if the virus mutates vaccinations are ineffective.
Betcha didn't know that!

Marco here. Vigo County of Indiana is currently experiencing the country’s largest outbreak of Chicken Pox, with 92 cases so far. Out of these 92 cases, only 3 were never vaccinated. That means this may be the nation’s first case of a serious Chicken Pox outbreak among children who were actually vaccinated for Chicken Pox. The Indiana Coalition for Vaccination Choice reports on their Facebook page:

Placed another call to the Indiana State Department of Health. Was able to reach the epidemiologist working the chicken pox outbreak. There are a total of 92 cases so far. Only 3 were never vaccinated. 10 had received one vaccine and 79 were fully vaccinated. They are seeing fewer lesions in the fully vaccinated. Zero deaths. Possibly one hospitalization but not sure off the top of their head. Zero complications from chicken pox. We were told that only one chicken pox vaccine was supposed to provide lifelong immunity but this did not turn out to be the case. A booster was added and yet we are seeing a very high rate of fully vaccinated children contracting chicken pox. We asked if another booster will be mandated and told possibly. We asked about vaccine failures and were told this is not vaccine failure because the severity of lesions in the fully vaccinated was less than if never vaccinated and that no vaccine is 100% effective. We were told that if vaccines save one life they are worth it. We asked how many children died from chicken pox before the vaccine. This epidemiologist was unsure.

What We Had For Dessert Tonight! Yummy!!

Hey, it's Marco. Anything with butter has got to be good, right? Okay, yeah, we're kinda broke for a while. We're down over 60K this month, (ouch!) but that's another story that I'm not gettin' into here. Once the litigation is over, perhaps in a couple of hundred years, I'll tell you all about it. Just know this, some people are evil...  Anyway, we've been living lightly this entire year, and I mean light. Basics. We even share toilet paper. Kinda gross. So, all I had in the fridge for a tasty treat tonight after dinner was some pumpkin tortillas.  I also had some organic butter, organic cheese, some cinnamon and maple syrup. Hmm... What to do. What to do. Fry it up ya'll! Warm the pumpkin torts in a iron pan. (Put a little butter in first) Flip tortilla, and when warm, add the cheese, cinnamon, fold the tortilla and cook on medium heat until it's hot. Put the (wonder what I'll call these things) on a plate and add a little maple syrup. Wow! These little morsels were quite tasty! Fattening? Who cares. We're on the "I'm Broke" diet right now. So. Please try these. They were outstanding! and messy... the syrup kinda dribbles down your arm. Must have napkins!

Here's all you need:

Paqui's Pumpkin Tortillas (Austin, Texas. Yeah baby!)
Organic Butter
Organic Cheddar or American Cheese
Dash of Celtic Sea Salt
Organic Maple Syrup
Oh, and a pan and a gas stove! and maybe some fiber!

Enjoy! Just don't eat too many...

Instant Relaxation. Just for you. But only B4 Bed!

When a new drug gets tested, the results of the trials should be published for the rest of the medical world -- except much of the time, negative or inconclusive findings go unreported, leaving doctors and researchers in the dark. In this impassioned talk, Ben Goldacre explains why these unreported instances of negative data are especially misleading and dangerous.

FOOD MATTERS! By Mark Bittman

Must Get Flu Shot! Don't want to die...

Hey Howdy Hey How do we get the flu anyway? Is it really some bug? Some virus? Some evil somethin' somethin' that just happens this time of year? Or could it be our own stupidity? Listen, we just finished stuffing Halloween candy (GMO candy) down our children's throats right? Here in Texas it's starting to get colder which means we'll be spending more time indoors and less time out in the sunshine... We'll back off at the gym because the Holidays are coming, right? We all ate too much at Thanksgiving. Turkey, corn, potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, diet coke, and a drinky poo or two. Or three. We still have to get to work, pay the bills, handle the children, buy stuff, attend Holiday parties. Kids will be home from school which may just add a little more stress to our already too stressed lives. The outlaws might just pay us a visit. (The Inlaws, LOL) And you know what we're gonna do at Christmas. We're gonna stuff our faces until we puke! And then, we'll eat some more just like we did Thanksgiving! Right? Pumpkin pie? Cheesecake? Need a cup of coffee or a red bull to keep us awake in front of the TV to watch that football game. And afterwards, we'll go on a nice  run and a cleanse. We'll get some much needed rest and relaxation and perhaps some lovin' from our Spouse. Wrong! Christmas is coming! Santa Claus baby! Gifts, excitement, more Holiday parties, more alcohol, more food, more dessert, more excitement, more shopping and still, keep our regular work schedule! No worries, we've done this before. We can handle a little extra weight. Besides, one of my resolutions will be to get back in shape. Yeah, right... I'll just have whatever I want to eat and drink. Don't want to be a party pooper. New Year's is coming! And what will we do on New Year's Eve? Get smashed! Alcohol! Beer, wine, yager, tequila! Bring it on! We really want to see the boss all hammered up! Holidays! Gotta love them. PS: It's okay to gain a little weight this time of year... Pig!

Now when does the flu season come along? It's usually around the Holiday season, the end or the beginning of the year. Why do you think Big Pharma advertise their flu shots this time of year? Money! They know you're going to jack yourself up with garbage and they know you'll buy their flu shot campaign. Some bug is gonna get you, so you better get your shot. If you take a body that has the flu and a body that has been poisoned, do they not have the same or similar symptoms? Headaches, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, fever, nausea, chills, fatigue, aches, pains, gas and/or vomiting? This is just my opinion, but I certainly don't worry that some flu bug is going to come along and ruin my Holiday. Will I enjoy the Season? Absolutely. Will I get sick? Absolutely not! Why do you think our Creator gave us vitamins and green drinks and REAL food to eat? Take care folks. And if I get sick, I was wrong... That'll be $25.

The Season starts now. Stay healthy! And remember, do something nice for someone this year.

Gaining Weight With A High Fruit Diet?

Monday, December 3, 2012

Okay, okay, what's better? Organic or conventional? First, we must set the record straight.  Scientific studies show that milk from pastured cows contains higher levels of beneficial fats.  Beef from grass-fed cattle and eggs from pastured hens are lower in cholesterol and saturated fat and higher in healthy omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamins A and E.  Organic strawberries and tomatoes contain more healthy antioxidants.  These are all undisputed facts laid out in a myriad of published, peer-reviewed scientific papers.

Consumers increasingly turn to organic and grass-based foods, based on this scientific evidence that has been reported in magazines, including Time, in recent years.  Now, the latest issue of Time mindlessly repeats the agribusiness mantra: “Nutritionally, an egg is an egg.”  Milk is milk. And canned peas, with toxic pesticide residues, heated to extreme temperatures during processing, and then placed in a container lined with a suspected endocrine disruptor, are just as healthy as those for sale at a farmer’s market, picked fresh from a local field just hours ago...

Hey it's Marco! Here are some great yummy foods that you may want to add to your diet!

Apples - fiber rich and contains pectic which encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines. Apples contain flavanoids, an antioxidant that improves immune function; apples are a good source of folic acid, potassium, vitamin c and calcium.

Asparagus – many of the elements that build the liver, kidneys, skin, ligaments, and bones are found in green asparagus. Helps in the formation of red blood corpuscles. The green tips are high in vitamin A.

Avocado – contains a high amount of fruit oil an element giving high food energy value. Contains no starch, little sugar and very few carbohydrates, 14 minerals, all of which regulate body functions and stimulate growth.

Beets – High vitamin A, good for eliminative system and also digestive system. Beet root juice has been shown to lower blood pressure in men and women due to the high dietary nitrate content.*

Blueberries - They are full of anti-oxidants and help fight bacterial urinary tract infection, great for brain function by activating 2 protective enzymes that keep neurons from being "turned off" by free radicals.

Broccoli – High in vitamin A and C. Low in calories. Best if eaten with proteins because the combination helps drive amino acids to the brain.

Carrots - The most neutral of all vegetables. So high in vitamin A it has been used extensively to improve eyesight and as a general body builder.

Cauliflower – A sulphur vegetable is more easily digested than cabbage, but it's high phosphorus content means it is gas – forming.

Celery – An alkaline, protective food, aids digestion, counteracts acidosis, halts fermentation and purifies the bloodstream. It can help clear up high blood pressure. One of the best foods for keeping the body well, celery can be a brain tonic, and the sodium in it will neutralize acids in the body. The leaves are rich in potassium, sodium sulphur.

Corn – one of the easiest foods to digest (raw) and one of the beast balanced starches. Yellow corn is high in magnesium, a wonderful bowel regulator, bone and muscle builder and an excellent food for brain and nervous system.

Cranberries -  Cranberries are a wonderful tool for combatting urinary tract infection, (no sugar added type) but should be avoided by people sensitive to aspirin as cranberry juice contains aspirin-like compounds.

Cucumber – alkaline, non-starchy, cooling effect on the blood. A wonderful digestive aid, purifying effect on the bowel and very beneficial to the skin.

Garlic – An internal antiseptic, it contains allylic sulphides, which work by waxing chemicals inside cells.

Greens – Are the healers of the body. They bring in chlorophyll, carotene and calcium, all important to the healing process.

Kale – Very high in calcium, vitamin A and iron. Builds strong teeth, an is beneficial to digestive and nervous system

Red Pepper – Peppers are classified as a protective food because they contain so many elements that build up resistance. Best eaten raw, they are very high in vitamin C. they contain vitamin A, which makes our tissue more resistant, especially to colds and catarrhal infections in the respiratory organs, sinuses, ears, bladder, skin and digestive tract and Vitamin B, aids in food absorption and normalizes the brain and nervous system by increasing metabolic processes.

Seeds - Food that have seeds are the greatest foods for us. Seeds are the glands of the plant. Foods with seeds help us nourish the glands, nerves, and brain. Pumpkin seeds in the diet may actually prevent cancer in the prostate.

Snap Beans - Beans, especially green beans, are an alkaline vegetable. Beans are high in protein and essential on a vegetarian diet.

Spinach – an excellent source of vitamin C and A, and iron, contains about 40 percent potassium. It leaves an alkaline ash in the body. Good for lymphatic, urinary, and digestive systems.

Sprouts – Very high in silicon. They come from seeds that contain all the elements necessary for life, and when they first begin to sprout they are rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes and prostaglandins.

Squash – all squashes are low in calories, high in fiber and easily digested. Great for the eliminative system, they produce absolutely no gas in the intestinal tract. Winter squash contains more vitamin A than summer squash.

And don't forget almonds, but only if they are certified raw and organic!
And of course, meat is okay as long as it is certified grass fed and organic!
Stay healthy! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!
Oh! And beer! Wait, you don't eat beer...

Bananas Destroy Gatorade. Any day!

Gatorade may have millions of dollars worth of research behind it and a bunch of star athletes endorsing it, but it turns out the humble old banana still does a better job of giving you an energy and nutritional boost when you're exercising. New research looked at whether a banana or a carbohydrate sports drink like Gatorade was more beneficial when consumed during a period of intense cycling: Researcher Dr. David C. Nieman describes the results: "We found that not only was performance the same whether bananas or sports drinks were consumed, there were several advantages to consuming bananas." They had antioxidants and nutrients that the Gatorade-like drinks don't have, and bananas offered a healthier blend of sugars too. Well, I guess there goes our justification for slamming expensive sugar water to enhance our performance at the gym. Looks like we're back to a good old-fashioned banana courtesy of nature and maybe some regular, non-smart water too. Ho hum. At the very least, maybe the banana industry can start printing celebrity endorsements on the peels so we can feel validated about our choice to go natural.

Goin' Bananas!

Bad Gatorade!

Marco here and Wow! Check this out... Once such daily ritual that is far more dangerous than many people believe is taking properly prescribed pharmaceutical drugs. Popping pills on a daily basis to “improve health” has become far too common for many Americans. In fact, according to the CDC, approximately 50% of all Americans take a pharmaceutical drug daily. When you isolate senior citizens, the number shoots up to an astonishing 90%. And perhaps even more troubling, 20% of children take a pharmaceutical drug.

At the same time, statistics are showing that deaths from pharmaceutical drugs are rising at an alarming rate. But don’t take my word for it. Just google the term “pharmaceutical drugs kill” and you’ll see headlines from major news organizations such as Fox and CNN that read:

“Prescription drugs 62,000 times more likely to kill …

“Prescription drugs kill 6200% more Americans …”

“Prescription Drugs Kill 300 Percent More Americans than Illegal Drugs…”

“Prescription drugs are now killing more people than traffic accidents…”

“Prescription Drug Deaths Skyrocket…”

“Prescription drugs kill one person every 19 minutes…”

“Prescription Drugs Now Kill More People Than Heroin And Cocaine Combined…”

Are You GAY? Blame DEMON SEX!

You're gonna love this! The reigning scientific consensus on sexual orientation is that it's an inherited, biological trait, but that's just because scientists don't know how to party. A far sexier explanation has been offered up by Christian magazine Charisma, which conducted its own investigation into the origins of homosexuality to reveal the real culprit: sex with demons.

"Can demons engage in sexual behaviors with humans?" the magazine asks. Why yes, they can! At least according to the article's primary source, a former stripper-turned-ministry leader named Contessa Adams. Adams shares her decades-long struggle with demon sex, sparing no horrible, sexy detail:

It's Great to be a Christian!

Junkfood Smoothies. Stay Away!

Marco here. I love smoothies, you love smoothies, right? Smoothies are perhaps the best way to fuel your body with the powerful nutrients it needs from whole plant foods to create vibrant health and glow. Making smoothies part of your diet not only help you get vitamins, minerals, enzymes, phytonutrients, and fiber, but they also make the foods more easily digestible because they are blended. Blending a smoothie allows you to use the whole fruit or vegetable so you can make the most of their nutrition…including that all-important element of cleansing fiber.

That doesn’t mean that all smoothies are created equal. Far from it! Many people think that because it’s called a smoothie, it must be healthy. But if you take a pile of junk and stick it all in a trash bag, so you can’t see it all, it’s still a bunch of junk. Even if you call it “smoothie.” Read on. Thanks Kim!

Bad Smoothie! Bad.

Far too many medical professionals swiftly encourage the route of standard (yet outdated) medications for autism and ignore the abundance of science and research that currently supports effective recovery protocols. Marco here. This article is about how Big Sugar used Big Tobacco-style tactics to ensure that government agencies would dismiss troubling health claims against their products. Compared to the tobacco companies, which knew for a fact that their wares were deadly and spent billions of dollars trying to cover up that reality, the sugar industry had a relatively easy task. With the jury still out on sugar's health effects, producers simply needed to make sure that the uncertainty lingered. But the goal was the same: to safeguard sales by creating a body of evidence companies could deploy to counter any unfavorable research. You gotta read this! You're being duped!

Hey Guys! Get Your Yoga on!

Toilet yoga? Now I've seen it all...

Hey, it's Marco! And Miss Dashama, if you're reading this, I will be in touch just as soon as we resolve this major hiccup we're going thru... Oh, if you're wondering who Dashama is, click here!

10 reasons why more guys should do yoga.

1. You’ll work different muscle groups

Most guys go to the weight room and do the same exercises for years and years. Yoga offers a way to build strength in different parts of your muscles that you’ve probably never built before.

2. You will burn calories

If you take a Vinyasa class or something similar, you will burn a lot of calories that will help you lose weight. It’s also not as hard on your joints as running is.

3. Yoga reduces toxins in the muscles

A lot of guys don’t do to much stretching, so toxins tend to build up in their muscles. Yoga is all about stretching all the various muscle groups to release built up of toxins in the body.

4. Yoga is great for stress relief

A major component of yoga is working on meditation and breathing. It’s like a meditation in motion that will help you clear your mind from your stress-filled work day.

5. It’s great for pain relief

If you have sore or stiff muscles, yoga does great things to relax and relieve the tension areas of the body.

Your After Thanksgiving Workout!

Thanks "Straight Health!" Couldn't have said it butter! Hee Hee

Thanksgiving is a time to spend with friends and family while eating some delicious food. Got organic, right? Unfortunately, physical activity and healthy eating are placed pretty far down the list of priorities. Here are a few simple ways you can incorporate exercise... Remember, it's the start that stops most people! 2013's gonna rock! I'm off to shoot the turkey!

Gratitude by Wayne Dyer. Happy Thanksgiving!

Health Benefits of Saying Thanks

77 Year Old Body Builder! Wow! Vegan too...

Professional bodybuilder Jim Morris has the ripped-to-shreds physique that few men of any age can achieve, let alone a senior citizen. But Morris, 77, is proof that exercise and eating well are indeed the keys to the fountain of youth.

While most bodybuilders consume substantial amounts of animal proteins daily, Jim is a longtime vegan who insists that a plant-based diet is responsible for his shockingly age-defying physique and superb overall health.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING Btw! Successful people had a moment where they had a decision to make. A fork in the road. Go left or go right. The question is…how did they do it in the face of the ridicule of friends and family? In the face of what seemed like insurmountable fear and numerous obstacles? You’re about to find out.

6 Breathing Exercises to Help You Relax: You Need this!

Hey, Marco here. Here's a few tips on relaxation breathing. I'm sure we could all use this! Don’t wait until fight or flight kicks in before minding your breath. Controlled breathing not only keeps the mind and body functioning at their best, it can also lower blood pressure, promote feelings of calm and relaxation and help us de-stress.

1. Sama Vritti or “Equal Breathing”

How it’s done: Balance can do a body good, beginning with the breath. To start, inhale for a count of four, then exhale for a count of four — all through the nose, which adds a natural resistance to the breath. Got the basic pranayama down? More advanced yogis can aim for six to eight counts per breath with the same goal in mind: calm the nervous system, increase focus and reduce stress.. Read on!

Relax Now!

Please stay home on Black Friday or be sucked into the evil world of hell created by Humans! Want to know why God really rested on the 7th day? Imagine creating this awe inspiring and beautiful planet. Then, you create humans. I can only imagine God sitting there with his head cradled in his own hands, saying "Jesus H. Christ! What have I done?" There's a reason Jesus ain't comin' back... Would you?

Sweet Misery? I Had no F***ing Idea! What to do. What to do...

Do what you want. It's your life... I'll stick with beer! I mean, stevia...

Sunday, November 18, 2012

Hey, it's Marco! Here are five bad words that will always stop progress. Ready? "I don't feel like it!" How many times have you said that? I know I have and you know what, sometimes I really DON'T feel like it! Going to exercise that is. But here's my trick! I have a 15 minute rule! And I'll share it with you. Not only does it apply to exercise, it can apply to anything. Housework? Yes! Studying? Yes! Time with the kids? Yes! Fill in the blank? Yes! Remember this...Activity cures everything! If you don't feel like exercising, try it for 15 minutes. If after 15 minutes, you still don't feel like it, go get some rest, but I guarantee you this, after 15 minutes, something amazing will happen! You'll be energized! Put your body in motion and the emotion will follow! It's so simple. Don't let your attitude determine your day! Unless it's a positive attitude! If you're tired, act energized! Act energized! That's how you will get to the next level! And I know you want to get to the next level! Your actions will change your attitude, your motion will change your emotions, and your movements will change your mood! Every delay is a wasted opportunity for getting the body you deserve! Do it! Do it now! And remember...don't count the days, make the days count!

PS! You really can "Dance Out" the day's garbage... Release it to the Earth! No worries! The Earth can handle it...

We Gotta Problem with Pink! No, not that one...

Marco here. So I get this email from some lady (poor thing) who claims she can't get to sleep at night. Sleep apnea? Insomnia? Sorry, I'm no expert here. I sleep in a bed, on the couch, the floor. I'll sleep anywhere. Who can't fall asleep, especially in a bed? Come on, I fell asleep on a fence one time. People fall asleep everyday driving... Told her to try melatonin and some night teas. Probably never hear from her again...

Anyway, insomnia can range from the occasional sleepless night to years spent tossing and turning - and sleep deprived. If you suffer from the latter - chronic or long-term insomnia - these remedies are a good place to start. Yet, you also need to see your doctor to determine the cause and identify treatment options before your health and quality of life are compromised.

What if? 90% of Peer Reviewed Research is WRONG?

Oh my... What if 90% of the peer-reviewed clinical research, the holy grail of the conventional medical system, is exaggerated, or worse, completely false?

A seismic shift is occurring in the field of evidence-based medicine that a rare few are aware of, but which will (and likely already does) affect everyone, as the standard of medical care today largely follows from this model.

The very life’s blood of ‘evidence-based’ medicine — peer-reviewed and published clinical research results – which legitimizes the entire infrastructure and superstructure upon which conventional medical knowledge and practice is erected, has been revealed as mostly and patently false.

Could it be?

False Research?

Need some inspiration? Bert and John Jacobs, co-founders of Life Is Good, share the story behind Jake, the Life is Good stick figure in this clip from Nightline.

Daniel Amen -This is your Brain on no sleep!

Marco here. I know you own a jump rope. If not, get one. You can find a speed rope for less than $10. Here's a quick tip. Jump rope for 30-45 seconds between sets. (That's sets of exercises for you newbies) This is a repeated burst of energy that will burn calories. That extra bite of cheesecake you had last night. (Just talkin' to myself...) Here's help: Always look straight ahead while jumping. Don't tense up. Keep elbows bent and close to body. Breathe normally. You can do this. Turn the rope with your wrist, not your upper arms. Never lock your knees! Keep them straight and loose. Push off and land on the balls of your feet. Your heels should only tap the ground. Try to jump up about an inch or so. And no, you don't have to measure it! So there... Jump on! And remember, the Holidays are coming. No excuse to miss your workouts. Or, you can always ask Santa for abs.

GETTING BACK TO FITNESS! Jogging ain't a fat burner...

Hey, Marco here. Unless you really love to jog, and I do, add a couple of sprints to your run. Really. Sprint for 20 to 30 seconds on the tread mill, on the road, the elliptical, rowing, up a hill, whatever. That is of course, if you're able to do sprints. A sprint is pretty much your fastest run. Or row, or jumping, whatever. Sprinting basically means your fastest and hardest. When you're moving your fastest, the movement can only be brief. Why? Go sprint a mile and see what happens. This power based movement cannot be sustained. Twenty to thirty seconds will be long enough. Believe me! Especially when you're low on time and want a quick energizing workout...

WHY I LOVE THE "WOO!" They're more FUN!

Marco here. Listen, just because we post all types of craziness on this humble, little blog, doesn't necessarily mean that we all believe we're being killed off by chemtrails, or that little green aliens are out to eat us. This stuff is just interesting and fascinating. These different belief systems give us something else to have fun with rather than the same old mindless debates regarding politics, God and religion. Yes, Jesus is coming next week, vaccines will save the world and organic is no better than conventional. You know, if we want to get excited that the moon may be hollow, what does it matter. We know that it's not true. But then again...However, it's fun! Especially after a couple of beers. Sure beats sitting around Skeptics who have firmly made up their mind on just about every issue. And they don't hesitate to tell us where we are wrong. Skeptics are always right btw... I know several.
I would rather spend time with a rotted, dead animal than hang out with most skeptics. Okay, not really. However, I personally do enjoy what the skeptics have to say as they do make sense most of the time. I don't buy foot baths, I don't believe in idiot, fake shame healers, and I certainly don't buy into depopulation. But I must say that Woo Woo is much more fun. You ever hang out with a bunch of nut cases on mushrooms? It's better than church! Want to meet the God? Have some shrooms! (Just kidding LOL) You ever hang out with a bunch of skeptics? Boring... Listen, there are billions of folks on this planet who, I expect will never agree on anything. That's what makes us Human. Live life, enjoy life, make life fun, be responsible when needed and hopefully when you find yourself on your deathbed, you will have no regrets. Skeptic? WooWoo? Who give a $hit? Life's too short...

Hey Howdy Hey, eat some avocados! Have some guacamole or make an avocado and coconut butter shake! It turns out that not only is avocado super delicious, but you can enjoy your avocado without the guilt thanks to its mix of healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Now, I'm told that avocados, full of anti oxidants are the anti aging power house. I love avocados, but there's nothing "anti" aging about anything. You're getting old folks, no matter what you eat! So, with that said, eat them anyway. Why? Because you never know... Everyday, I have at least one avocado on lightly toasted and buttered Ezekiel Bread. The one in the red packaging. Ounce for ounce, this fruit packs more calories than almost any other fruit on the planet: 731! It also has the dubious distinction of being one of the few fruits with a significant fat content, up to 30 grams each. You wouldn’t think that a food that’s so fattening could be good for you, but that’s the word from the food experts, who say that adding a little avocado to your diet every day can definitely improve your health. I'll buy that!

Stay healthy!

Eat More Avocados!

Cancer Cure? Not in my Lifetime...

While there are many successful treatments today that didn't exist just a couple decades ago, a wholesale "cure for cancer " remains elusive for many reasons. There are more than 100 types of cancer, characterized by abnormal cell growth. There are many different causes, ranging from radiation to chemicals to viruses; an individual has varying degrees of control over exposure to cancer-causing agents.

Cancer cells, and how they grow, remain unpredictable and in some cases mysterious. Even after seemingly effective treatments, crafty cancer cells are able to hide out in some patients and resurface.
About $200 billion has been spent on cancer research since the early 1970s, and the five-year survival rate for all people diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. has risen from about 50 percent in the 1970s to 65 percent today.

What I don't understand is, "Why all the cancer?" Something has changed in the last 150 years and I would expect that it has to do with what we put on and into our bodies... Just a thought.

Hey Howdy Hey! If your doctor, or health provider, or nutritionist, or “healer” is not healthy themselves, that’s a smoking gun that you need to redirect your time and energy into another option NOW!  A wise old saying states “You should never listen to anyone who’s more screwed up than you are.”  These are definitely words to live by, but it takes some time to really get this and remember to catch yourself when you go against this mandate.

Why do we not listen to our better judgement that’s literally SCREAMING at us from within ourselves? It’s simply because we’ve been programmed to ignore the fact that we have ownership over our body, and it is OUR responsibility to take care of it and keep it strong and healthy.  We simply don’t know how to take care of ourselves… We have to go to an “expert” outside of ourselves when something goes wrong… And the irony is that we live with ourselves ALL THE TIME, yet we don’t have a clue how we actually work. Funny huh?

The Trivedi Effect? Wow! What if this is real...

Interesting... Most people don’t because a miracle by definition is an event that violates a law of nature. But what if science showed us that a power or force outside of our understanding can bend the laws we commonly hold as true. If the phrase “Science of Miracles” seems like an oxymoron to you, then you have never met Mahendra Trivedi.  He has been routinely creating what most people would call miracles for the past 16 years. To date, more than 4000 international scientific studies have verified his ability to create positive change in the structure and characteristics of humans, animals, microbes, plants and even non-living materials.

Tens of thousands of people throughout the world have reported vastly improved overall health and well being including relief from chronic pain, debilitating diseases, emotional and psychological disorders and food and environmental sensitivities from the energy transmissions of Mahendra Trivedi also known as the Trivedi Effect†®.

The dark side of SCIENCE: Oo, I'm scared! Mommy?

Sean Stephenson Bio

Sean and his Beautiful Bride to be...

More about Sean!

GMO! You're Already Enrolled in this Experiment!

Whether you know it or or not, nuclear waste (cobalt-60) has been used for decades to make your food "safer."

Remember, it's what organic does not contain that makes it special! There is a profound misunderstanding in the mass market today about the value of certified organic food.  The question is not whether the 50% higher or more you pay at the register for an organic product is really worth the added vitamin, mineral and phytonutrient content you receive.  Even though organic food does usually have considerably higher nutrient density, it is not always the positive quality of what it contains that makes it so special. Rather, it is what you know the organic food does not contain, or what has not happened to it on its journey to your table, that makes buying organic a no-brainer to the educated consumer.

In the wake of a 12-year battle to keep Monsanto's Genetically Engineered (GE) crops from contaminating the nation's 25,000 organic farms and ranches, America's organic consumers and producers are facing betrayal. A self-appointed cabal of the Organic Elite, spearheaded by Whole Foods Market, Organic Valley, and Stonyfield Farm, has decided it's time to surrender to Monsanto.

Top executives from these companies have publicly admitted that they no longer oppose the mass commercialization of GE crops, such as Monsanto's controversial Roundup Ready alfalfa, and are prepared to sit down and cut a deal for "coexistence" with Monsanto and USDA biotech cheerleader Tom Vilsack.

In a cleverly worded, but profoundly misleading email sent to its customers last week, Whole Foods Market, while proclaiming their support for organics and "seed purity," gave the green light to USDA bureaucrats to approve the "conditional deregulation" of Monsanto's genetically engineered, herbicide-resistant alfalfa.

Whole Foods

Hey, Marco here and I'm not buyin' it! But then again, what do I know? Christie Wilcox explains that a little bit of pesticide exposure can actually be good for you.

While it might seem that decreasing exposure to pesticides in any way could only be good for you, toxicologists would differ. Contrary to what you might think, lower exposure isn’t necessarily better. It’s what’s known as hormesis, or a hormetic dose response curve. There is evidence that exposure to most chemicals at doses significantly below danger thresholds, even pesticides, is beneficial when compared to no exposure at all. Why? Read on...

HOW DO WE GET THE FLU? Just A Thought...

Can't wait to gorge at Thanksgiving. (The Inlaws, LOL) And you know what we're gonna do at Thanksgiving. We're gonna stuff our faces until we puke! And then, we'll eat some more!

Why do you think our Creator gave us vitamins and green drinks? Take care folks. And if I get sick, I was wrong... That'll be $25.

The Season starts now. Stay healthy!

We Have So Much Potential. What the hell happened?

1.) There is a total lack of real evidence that young children even benefit from flu shots.  A systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children age 6 to 23 months found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo. Also the shots are only able to protect against certain strains of the virus, which means that if you come into contact with a different strain of virus you will still get the flu.

2.) Medical journals have published thousands of articles revealing that injecting vaccines can actually lead to serious health problems including harmful immunological responses and a host of other infections. This further increases the body’s susceptibility to the diseases that the vaccine was supposed to protect against.

3.) Ever noticed how vaccinated children within days or few weeks develop runny noses, pneumonia, ear infections and bronchiolitis? The reason is the flu virus introduced in their bodies which creates these symptoms. It also indicates immuno-suppression i.e. lowering of the immunity. The flu vaccines actually do not immunize but sensitize the body against the virus...

No flu shots for me...

Dr. Andrew Saul: This Guy is in the Know!

Marco here! Pesticides are designed to kill, although the mode of action they use to put the stranglehold on pests varies. Whether it’s nerve gas–like neurological disruption, the unbalancing of key hormones, or the stunting of a plant’s ability to absorb life-sustaining trace minerals from the soil, none of the chemical interventions seems all that appetizing, especially considering that chemical residues routinely wind up on and even inside of the food we eat everyday. Pesticides are also blamed for diminishing mineral levels in foods.

OUCH! That Hurts...

Greed and power in the food industry is turning a trip to the grocery store into an objectionable experience, as processed and factory foods are further pushed onto the unwitting public.
On the positive side, however, most of us now have plenty of organic options, providing we know where to shop and how to find the good stuff. From fresh organic produce, to organic and compassionately farmed animal products, to a variety of delicious organic packaged foods, it is now easier than ever to eat healthy and stay away from unwanted pesticides, antibiotics, GMO ingredients, and synthetic additives in our food.

Fight on!

15 Happy Things! Get Busy!

Found this in my notes.. Thank You to whoever sent it to me!

1. Gratitude
Appreciate what you have and value it. Try counting your positives and be grateful for all the good things and people in your life. Stop complaining and be thankful for what you already have and you'll soon start feeling happy.

2. Stop Labeling
Stop labeling those things, people or events that you don’t understand as being weird or different and try opening your mind, little by little. Minds only work when open.

3. Optimism
Treat failure as an opportunity to learn a new and better lesson from life, and that's the trick to manufacture optimism in life. Never give up trying because that's an indication that something better is in store. Once you start harbouring an optimistic attitude towards life, success will automatically follow.

4. Release The Past
The past you are now longing for -- the past that you are now dreaming about -- was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now. Work on this by practicing with simple tasks every day. For example, when you cut the grass, just think about the grass and nothing else. When you're washing the dishing, immerse your full presence in dish washing. Eventually, your life will revolve around your day today, not yesterday.

5. Avoid comparison
Nothing is as awful as comparing yourself to someone else. If you think you're better that the other person, you're letting yourself regale in an unhealthy sense of superiority. If you demean yourself in front of others, it means all your hard work and progress has been in vain. While social comparisons are unhealthy, self-improvement is effective.

6. Kindness
There's a scientific reason behind every act of kindness that you do. Helping someone selflessly releases serotonin in your brain (Serotonin is the hormone that controls your mood) and hence makes you feel good about yourself almost instantly. Try doing one act of kindness everyday to flush out the toxins of depression from your system.

7. Stop Using Excuses
Send them packing and tell them they’re fired. You no longer need them. A lot of times we limit ourselves because of the many excuses we use. Instead of growing and working on improving ourselves and our lives, we get stuck, lying to ourselves, using all kind of excuses -- excuses that most of the time are not even real. We sabotage ourselves beyond belief. If you find yourself making excuses, ask yourself why you are creating the excuse in the first place?

8. Nurture Relationships
Relationships keep us alive and kicking. In fact, according to research studies loneliness doubles people's mortality rates. A circle of good friends, loving family members and cheerful colleagues are a reminder that you have people who care about you. There's nothing like having someone who you can share your experiences with. So nurture these relationships and say goodbye to a lonesome existence.

9. Forgiveness
Hatred is a negative feeling and harbouring it will have nothing but negative effects on your well-being. Stop thinking about the hateful emotion/person and let it go. Forgive if needed, take things lightly and let it not affect your system.

10. Avoid Impressing Others
Success may have nothing to do with how much money you have or how many cars you have, but how you choose to live a life of abundance which comes in many forms, many of which have nothing to do with material things. The moment you stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not, the moment you take off all your masks, the moment you accept and embrace the real you, you will find people will be drawn to you, effortlessly.

11. Commit To Your Goals
If you have a goal, work towards it. Anything is achievable if you put your heart into it. Wholehearted dedication and diligence can bring extraordinary results and consequentially add to your happiness. It is very easy to lose vision for what we truly want in life, but it is your dedication towars your goals above and beyond all obstacles that will make the difference.

12. Care For Your body
Love yourself and love your body! Your physical condition has a direct connection with your well-being. A fit body and healthy mind is reflective of happiness. Start working towards the health of your physical, mental and emotional energy by caring for your body.

13. Believe
Connect to a higher power. You're probably already doing this with or without knowing. Just a quick meditation or prayer is easy. If you have the time, join a local prayer group, visit a meditation center, or simply spend some time alone in nature. People who believe in a deity are generally happier than those who don't. Sometimes all you need to be happier is a little faith!

14. Dream
Imagination fires motivation. Create a dream board and dream up something new you wish to experience. It could be finding a new lover, climbing a mountain, learning calligraphy, or going back to college. Dreams motivate, inspire and expand our sense of self. They also make us happy because they give our lives a sense of purpose. Happy people usually love what what they do, and if they don't, they love who they are. Dreams remind us who we are.

15. Give
Cultivate a habit of sharing with others -- your money, knowledge, service, wisdom, care, love. Find a person who shares a lot with others, and you will find a happy person. In giving, you always receive more. Not only do you get pleasure from giving, you give someone else pleasure. Giving has many unexpected benefits from attracting more happiness into your life, to inspiring others, and changing the lives of those you touch. In the end the whole world is made into a better place. Ask, “how can I serve?” Pay it forward. Give freely.
