Hey it's Marco! Here are some great yummy foods that you may want to add to your diet!

Apples - fiber rich and contains pectic which encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines. Apples contain flavanoids, an antioxidant that improves immune function; apples are a good source of folic acid, potassium, vitamin c and calcium.

Asparagus – many of the elements that build the liver, kidneys, skin, ligaments, and bones are found in green asparagus. Helps in the formation of red blood corpuscles. The green tips are high in vitamin A.

Avocado – contains a high amount of fruit oil an element giving high food energy value. Contains no starch, little sugar and very few carbohydrates, 14 minerals, all of which regulate body functions and stimulate growth.

Beets – High vitamin A, good for eliminative system and also digestive system. Beet root juice has been shown to lower blood pressure in men and women due to the high dietary nitrate content.*

Blueberries - They are full of anti-oxidants and help fight bacterial urinary tract infection, great for brain function by activating 2 protective enzymes that keep neurons from being "turned off" by free radicals.

Broccoli – High in vitamin A and C. Low in calories. Best if eaten with proteins because the combination helps drive amino acids to the brain.

Carrots - The most neutral of all vegetables. So high in vitamin A it has been used extensively to improve eyesight and as a general body builder.

Cauliflower – A sulphur vegetable is more easily digested than cabbage, but it's high phosphorus content means it is gas – forming.

Celery – An alkaline, protective food, aids digestion, counteracts acidosis, halts fermentation and purifies the bloodstream. It can help clear up high blood pressure. One of the best foods for keeping the body well, celery can be a brain tonic, and the sodium in it will neutralize acids in the body. The leaves are rich in potassium, sodium sulphur.

Corn – one of the easiest foods to digest (raw) and one of the beast balanced starches. Yellow corn is high in magnesium, a wonderful bowel regulator, bone and muscle builder and an excellent food for brain and nervous system.

Cranberries -  Cranberries are a wonderful tool for combatting urinary tract infection, (no sugar added type) but should be avoided by people sensitive to aspirin as cranberry juice contains aspirin-like compounds.

Cucumber – alkaline, non-starchy, cooling effect on the blood. A wonderful digestive aid, purifying effect on the bowel and very beneficial to the skin.

Garlic – An internal antiseptic, it contains allylic sulphides, which work by waxing chemicals inside cells.

Greens – Are the healers of the body. They bring in chlorophyll, carotene and calcium, all important to the healing process.

Kale – Very high in calcium, vitamin A and iron. Builds strong teeth, an is beneficial to digestive and nervous system

Red Pepper – Peppers are classified as a protective food because they contain so many elements that build up resistance. Best eaten raw, they are very high in vitamin C. they contain vitamin A, which makes our tissue more resistant, especially to colds and catarrhal infections in the respiratory organs, sinuses, ears, bladder, skin and digestive tract and Vitamin B, aids in food absorption and normalizes the brain and nervous system by increasing metabolic processes.

Seeds - Food that have seeds are the greatest foods for us. Seeds are the glands of the plant. Foods with seeds help us nourish the glands, nerves, and brain. Pumpkin seeds in the diet may actually prevent cancer in the prostate.

Snap Beans - Beans, especially green beans, are an alkaline vegetable. Beans are high in protein and essential on a vegetarian diet.

Spinach – an excellent source of vitamin C and A, and iron, contains about 40 percent potassium. It leaves an alkaline ash in the body. Good for lymphatic, urinary, and digestive systems.

Sprouts – Very high in silicon. They come from seeds that contain all the elements necessary for life, and when they first begin to sprout they are rich in vitamins, minerals, enzymes and prostaglandins.

Squash – all squashes are low in calories, high in fiber and easily digested. Great for the eliminative system, they produce absolutely no gas in the intestinal tract. Winter squash contains more vitamin A than summer squash.

And don't forget almonds, but only if they are certified raw and organic!
And of course, meat is okay as long as it is certified grass fed and organic!

Bananas Destroy Gatorade. Any day!

Gatorade may have millions of dollars worth of research behind it and a bunch of star athletes endorsing it, but it turns out the humble old banana still does a better job of giving you an energy and nutritional boost when you're exercising. New research looked at whether a banana or a carbohydrate sports drink like Gatorade was more beneficial when consumed during a period of intense cycling: Researcher Dr. David C. Nieman describes the results: "We found that not only was performance the same whether bananas or sports drinks were consumed, there were several advantages to consuming bananas." They had antioxidants and nutrients that the Gatorade-like drinks don't have, and bananas offered a healthier blend of sugars too. Well, I guess there goes our justification for slamming expensive sugar water to enhance our performance at the gym. Looks like we're back to a good old-fashioned banana courtesy of nature and maybe some regular, non-smart water too. Ho hum. At the very least, maybe the banana industry can start printing celebrity endorsements on the peels so we can feel validated about our choice to go natural.

Hey, it's Marco! Here are five bad words that will always stop progress. Ready? "I don't feel like it!" How many times have you said that? I know I have and you know what, sometimes I really DON'T feel like it! Going to exercise that is. But here's my trick! I have a 15 minute rule! And I'll share it with you. Not only does it apply to exercise, it can apply to anything. Housework? Yes! Studying? Yes! Time with the kids? Yes! Fill in the blank? Yes! Remember this...Activity cures everything! If you don't feel like exercising, try it for 15 minutes. If after 15 minutes, you still don't feel like it, go get some rest, but I guarantee you this, after 15 minutes, something amazing will happen! You'll be energized! Put your body in motion and the emotion will follow! It's so simple. Don't let your attitude determine your day! Unless it's a positive attitude! If you're tired, act energized! Act energized! That's how you will get to the next level! And I know you want to get to the next level! Your actions will change your attitude, your motion will change your emotions, and your movements will change your mood! Every delay is a wasted opportunity for getting the body you deserve! Do it! Do it now! And remember...don't count the days, make the days count!

Lotion bars are very moisturizing and incredibly easy to make with only a few ingredients. No liquid ingredients are used so no emulsifying or preservatives are needed.


*To soften and protect dry skin

Marco here. So I get this email from some lady (poor thing) who claims she can't get to sleep at night. Sleep apnea? Insomnia? Sorry, I'm no expert here. I sleep in a bed, on the couch, the floor. I'll sleep anywhere. Who can't fall asleep, especially in a bed? Come on, I fell asleep on a fence one time. People fall asleep everyday driving... Told her to try melatonin and some night teas. Probably never hear from her again...

Anyway, insomnia can range from the occasional sleepless night to years spent tossing and turning - and sleep deprived. If you suffer from the latter - chronic or long-term insomnia - these remedies are a good place to start. Marco here. I know you own a jump rope. If not, get one. You can find a speed rope for less than $10. Here's a quick tip. Jump rope for 30-45 seconds between sets. (That's sets of exercises for you newbies) This is a repeated burst of energy that will burn calories. That extra bite of cheesecake you had last night. (Just talkin' to myself...) Here's help: Always look straight ahead while jumping. Don't tense up. Keep elbows bent and close to body. Breathe normally. You can do this. Turn the rope with your wrist, not your upper arms. Never lock your knees! Keep them straight and loose. Push off and land on the balls of your feet. Your heels should only tap the ground. Try to jump up about an inch or so. And no, you don't have to measure it! So there... Jump on! And remember, the Holidays are coming. No excuse to miss your workouts. Or, you can always ask Santa for abs.

GETTING BACK TO FITNESS! Jogging ain't a fat burner...

Hey, Marco here. Unless you really love to jog, and I do, add a couple of sprints to your run. Really. Sprint for 20 to 30 seconds on the tread mill, on the road, the elliptical, rowing, up a hill, whatever. That is of course, if you're able to do sprints. A sprint is pretty much your fastest run. Or row, or jumping, whatever. Sprinting basically means your fastest and hardest. When you're moving your fastest, the movement can only be brief. Why? Go sprint a mile and see what happens. This power based movement cannot be sustained. Twenty to thirty seconds will be long enough. Believe me! Especially when you're low on time and want a quick energizing workout...

WHY I LOVE THE "WOO!" They're more FUN!

Listen, just because we post all types of craziness on this humble, little blog, doesn't necessarily mean that we all believe we're being killed off by chemtrails, or that little green aliens are out to eat us. This stuff is just interesting and fascinating. These different belief systems give us something else to have fun with rather than the same old mindless debates regarding politics, God and religion. Yes, Jesus is coming next week, vaccines will save the world and organic is no better than conventional. You know, if we want to get excited that the moon may be hollow, what does it matter. We know that it's not true. But then again...However, it's fun! Especially after a couple of beers. Sure beats sitting around Skeptics who have firmly made up their mind on just about every issue. And they don't hesitate to tell us where we are wrong. Skeptics are always right btw... I know several.
I would rather spend time with a rotted, dead animal than hang out with most skeptics. Okay, not really. However, I personally do enjoy what the skeptics have to say as they do make sense most of the time. I don't buy foot baths, I don't believe in idiot, fake shame healers, and I certainly don't buy into depopulation. But I must say that Woo Woo is much more fun. You ever hang out with a bunch of nut cases on mushrooms? It's better than church! Want to meet the God? Have some shrooms! (Just kidding LOL) You ever hang out with a bunch of skeptics? Boring... Listen, there are billions of folks on this planet who, I expect will never agree on anything. That's what makes us Human. Live life, enjoy life, make life fun, be responsible when needed and hopefully when you find yourself on your deathbed, you will have no regrets. Skeptic? WooWoo? Who give a $hit? Hey Howdy Hey, eat some avocados! Have some guacamole or make an avocado and coconut butter shake! It turns out that not only is avocado super delicious, but you can enjoy your avocado without the guilt thanks to its mix of healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. There are many different causes, ranging from radiation to chemicals to viruses; an individual has varying degrees of control over exposure to cancer-causing agents.

Hey Howdy Hey! If your doctor, or health provider, or nutritionist, or “healer” is not healthy themselves, that’s a smoking gun that you need to redirect your time and energy into another option NOW!  A wise old saying states “You should never listen to anyone who’s more screwed up than you are.”  These are definitely words to live by, but it takes some time to really get this and remember to catch yourself when you go against this mandate.

Why do we not listen to our better judgement that’s literally SCREAMING at us from within ourselves? It’s simply because we’ve been programmed to ignore the fact that we have ownership over our body, and it is OUR responsibility to take care of it and keep it strong and healthy.  We simply don’t know how to take care of ourselves… We have to go to an “expert” outside of ourselves when something goes wrong… And the irony is that we live with ourselves ALL THE TIME, yet we don’t have a clue how we actually work. Top executives from these companies have publicly admitted that they no longer oppose the mass commercialization of GE crops, such as Monsanto's controversial Roundup Ready alfalfa, and are prepared to sit down and cut a deal for "coexistence" with Monsanto and USDA biotech cheerleader Tom Vilsack.

In a cleverly worded, but profoundly misleading email sent to its customers last week, Whole Foods Market, while proclaiming their support for organics and "seed purity," gave the green light to USDA bureaucrats to approve the "conditional deregulation" of Monsanto's genetically engineered, herbicide-resistant alfalfa.

While it might seem that decreasing exposure to pesticides in any way could only be good for you, toxicologists would differ. Contrary to what you might think, lower exposure isn’t necessarily better. It’s what’s known as hormesis, or a hormetic dose response curve. HOW DO WE GET THE FLU? Just A Thought...

Hey Howdy Hey How do we get the flu anyway? Is it really some bug? Some virus? Some evil somethin' somethin' that just happens this time of year? Or could it be our own stupidity? Listen, we just finished stuffing Halloween candy (GMO candy) down our children's throats right? Here in Texas it's starting to get colder which means we'll be spending more time indoors and less time out in the sunshine... We'll back off at the gym because the Holidays are coming, right? Can't wait to gorge at Thanksgiving. Turkey, corn, potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, diet coke, and a drinky poo or two. Or three. We still have to get to work, pay the bills, handle the children, buy stuff, attend Holiday parties. Kids will be home from school which may just add a little more stress to our already too stressed lives. The outlaws might just pay us a visit. (The Inlaws, LOL) And you know what we're gonna do at Thanksgiving. We're gonna stuff our faces until we puke! And then, we'll eat some more! Right? Pumpkin pie? Cheesecake? Need a cup of coffee or a red bull to keep us awake in front of the TV to watch that football game. And afterwards, we'll go on a nice  run and a cleanse. We'll get some much needed rest and relaxation and perhaps some lovin' from our Spouse. Wrong! Christmas is coming! Santa Claus baby! Gifts, excitement, more Holiday parties, more alcohol, more food, more dessert, more excitement, more shopping and still, keep our regular work schedule! No worries, we've done this before. We can handle a little extra weight. Besides, one of my resolutions will be to get back in shape. Yeah, right... I'll just have whatever I want to eat and drink. Don't want to be a party pooper. New Year's is coming! And what will we do on New Year's Eve? Get smashed! Alcohol! Beer, wine, yager, tequila! Bring it on! We really want to see the boss all hammered up! Holidays! Gotta love them.

Now when does the flu season come along? It's usually around the Holiday season, the end or the beginning of the year. Why do you think Big Pharma advertise their flu shots this time of year? Money! They know you're going to jack yourself up with garbage and they know you'll buy their flu shot campaign. Some bug is gonna get you, so you better get your shot. If you take a body that has the flu and a body that has been poisoned, do they not have the same or similar symptoms? Headaches, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, fever, nausea, chills, fatigue, aches, pains, gas and/or vomiting? This is just my opinion, but I certainly don't worry that some flu bug is going to come along and ruin my Holiday. Will I enjoy the Season? Absolutely. Will I get sick? Absolutely not! Why do you think our Creator gave us vitamins and green drinks? Take care folks. And if I get sick, I was wrong... That'll be $25.

We Have So Much Potential. What the hell happened?


1.) There is a total lack of real evidence that young children even benefit from flu shots.  A systematic review of 51 studies involving 260,000 children age 6 to 23 months found no evidence that the flu vaccine is any more effective than a placebo. Also the shots are only able to protect against certain strains of the virus, which means that if you come into contact with a different strain of virus you will still get the flu.

2.) Medical journals have published thousands of articles revealing that injecting vaccines can actually lead to serious health problems including harmful immunological responses and a host of other infections. This further increases the body’s susceptibility to the diseases that the vaccine was supposed to protect against.

3.) Ever noticed how vaccinated children within days or few weeks develop runny noses, pneumonia, ear infections and bronchiolitis? The reason is the flu virus introduced in their bodies which creates these symptoms. It also indicates immuno-suppression i.e. lowering of the immunity. The flu vaccines actually do not immunize but sensitize the body against the virus...

Marco here! Pesticides are designed to kill, although the mode of action they use to put the stranglehold on pests varies. Whether it’s nerve gas–like neurological disruption, the unbalancing of key hormones, or the stunting of a plant’s ability to absorb life-sustaining trace minerals from the soil, none of the chemical interventions seems all that appetizing, especially considering that chemical residues routinely wind up on and even inside of the food we eat everyday. Pesticides are also blamed for diminishing mineral levels in foods.

On the positive side, however, most of us now have plenty of organic options, providing we know where to shop and how to find the good stuff. From fresh organic produce, to organic and compassionately farmed animal products, to a variety of delicious organic packaged foods, it is now easier than ever to eat healthy and stay away from unwanted pesticides, antibiotics, GMO ingredients, and synthetic additives in our food.

15 Happy Things! Get Busy!

Found this in my notes.. Thank You to whoever sent it to me! 

1. Gratitude
Appreciate what you have and value it. Try counting your positives and be grateful for all the good things and people in your life. Stop complaining and be thankful for what you already have and you'll soon start feeling happy.

2. Stop Labeling
Stop labeling those things, people or events that you don’t understand as being weird or different and try opening your mind, little by little. Minds only work when open.

3. Optimism
Treat failure as an opportunity to learn a new and better lesson from life, and that's the trick to manufacture optimism in life. Never give up trying because that's an indication that something better is in store. Once you start harbouring an optimistic attitude towards life, success will automatically follow.

4. Release The Past
The past you are now longing for -- the past that you are now dreaming about -- was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now. Work on this by practicing with simple tasks every day. For example, when you cut the grass, just think about the grass and nothing else. When you're washing the dishing, immerse your full presence in dish washing. Eventually, your life will revolve around your day today, not yesterday.

5. Avoid comparison
Nothing is as awful as comparing yourself to someone else. If you think you're better that the other person, you're letting yourself regale in an unhealthy sense of superiority. If you demean yourself in front of others, it means all your hard work and progress has been in vain. While social comparisons are unhealthy, self-improvement is effective.

6. Kindness
There's a scientific reason behind every act of kindness that you do. Helping someone selflessly releases serotonin in your brain (Serotonin is the hormone that controls your mood) and hence makes you feel good about yourself almost instantly. Try doing one act of kindness everyday to flush out the toxins of depression from your system.

7. Stop Using Excuses
Send them packing and tell them they’re fired. You no longer need them. A lot of times we limit ourselves because of the many excuses we use. Instead of growing and working on improving ourselves and our lives, we get stuck, lying to ourselves, using all kind of excuses -- excuses that most of the time are not even real. We sabotage ourselves beyond belief. If you find yourself making excuses, ask yourself why you are creating the excuse in the first place?

8. Nurture Relationships
Relationships keep us alive and kicking. In fact, according to research studies loneliness doubles people's mortality rates. A circle of good friends, loving family members and cheerful colleagues are a reminder that you have people who care about you. There's nothing like having someone who you can share your experiences with. So nurture these relationships and say goodbye to a lonesome existence.

9. Forgiveness
Hatred is a negative feeling and harbouring it will have nothing but negative effects on your well-being. Stop thinking about the hateful emotion/person and let it go. Forgive if needed, take things lightly and let it not affect your system.

10. Avoid Impressing Others
Success may have nothing to do with how much money you have or how many cars you have, but how you choose to live a life of abundance which comes in many forms, many of which have nothing to do with material things. The moment you stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not, the moment you take off all your masks, the moment you accept and embrace the real you, you will find people will be drawn to you, effortlessly.

11. Commit To Your Goals
If you have a goal, work towards it. Anything is achievable if you put your heart into it. Wholehearted dedication and diligence can bring extraordinary results and consequentially add to your happiness. It is very easy to lose vision for what we truly want in life, but it is your dedication towars your goals above and beyond all obstacles that will make the difference.

12. Care For Your body
Love yourself and love your body! Your physical condition has a direct connection with your well-being. A fit body and healthy mind is reflective of happiness. Start working towards the health of your physical, mental and emotional energy by caring for your body.

13. Believe
Connect to a higher power. You're probably already doing this with or without knowing. Just a quick meditation or prayer is easy. If you have the time, join a local prayer group, visit a meditation center, or simply spend some time alone in nature. People who believe in a deity are generally happier than those who don't. Sometimes all you need to be happier is a little faith!

14. Dream
Imagination fires motivation. Create a dream board and dream up something new you wish to experience. It could be finding a new lover, climbing a mountain, learning calligraphy, or going back to college. Dreams motivate, inspire and expand our sense of self. They also make us happy because they give our lives a sense of purpose. Happy people usually love what what they do, and if they don't, they love who they are. Dreams remind us who we are.

15. Give
Cultivate a habit of sharing with others -- your money, knowledge, service, wisdom, care, love. Find a person who shares a lot with others, and you will find a happy person. In giving, you always receive more. Not only do you get pleasure from giving, you give someone else pleasure. Giving has many unexpected benefits from attracting more happiness into your life, to inspiring others, and changing the lives of those you touch. In the end the whole world is made into a better place. Ask, “how can I serve?” Pay it forward. Give freely.
