Start your New Year's Resolutions NOW!

Hey! It's Marco! It takes 21 to 28 days to create a good habit! So how many of you make New Year's resolutions? Do you keep them or do you fizzle out by the end of January? Well, if you get started now, you'll have much more success than if you wait to start on day one of the new year. Don't believe me? Give it a shot! But you gotta write them down and place them somewhere you'll see them daily! Put them everywhere! Carry them in your wallet or in your purse! And don't make the mistake of calling them goals. Call them promises! Promises that you make to yourself? Want to shed some fat? Start now! Want to make more money? Start now! Want to have a better relationship with your significant other? Start now! It's the start that stops most people! Find your why and then find your how! Knock out the little promises first with baby steps. Then move on to the next promise! Wow! This is so simple, I bet even I can do it! Oh, but wait...will you have obstacles? Of course. Challenges? Absolutely! Will you want to quit? You know it! Will you? Not in this lifetime! Put your body in motion and the emotion will follow! So write out your promises and get started today! Remember, whatever you want in life you can have, but know this: There are millions of people out there that want exactly what you want and they've been working at it for alot longer than you have! Think you can compete? You can...if you get started now! I know you can...but will you? Be well! Stay healthy and remember, don't count the days, make the days count!
Peace and love everyone!

If you want to stay beautiful, read this! (2 minutes)

Hey! It's Marco! Just thought I would pass this along. Here is a list of some things you should do your best to avoid, especially this time of year!

  • Sodium nitrite (causes cancer)
  • MSG / monosodium glutamate / yeast extract (causes obesity and nerve damage)
  • Hydrogenated oils (causes heart disease)
  • High-fructose corn syrup / sugar / sucrose (causes diabetes and obesity)
  • Artificial colors (causes behavioral disorders)
  • Aspartame (causes brain damage, optic nerve damage)
  • Homogenized milk fats (cause heart disease and cardiovascular disorders)
  • Red meat (absolutely no beef, pork, or other red meat) Okay...a little steak never killed anyone, just up the fiber!
  • Cows' milk, cheese and dairy products (Unless they are RAW from the dairy)
  • Soft drinks, junk foods, snack foods or fast foods
  • Processed foods such as cookies, crackers, frozen dinners, etc.
  • Fried foods (Especially donuts and french fries)
  • White flour and any foods containing white flour
  • Refined carbohydrates such as breads, cereals, pastries, pizza dough, etc. (Rudy's makes a great real bread)
  • Fruit juice drinks (Come on, buy a juicer and make your own, no one is that busy!)
  • Brand-name laundry detergents (loaded with toxic fragrance chemicals)
  • Popular deodorants (contain aluminum)
  • Fluoride toothpaste (fluoride is a dangerous ingredient)
  • Popular shampoos / soaps / conditioners (all contain harmful fragrance chemicals)
  • Dryer sheets (contain fragrance chemicals)
So there you have it, not to much to ask! Most people I know take their health for granted. Don't do that. You only get one body. Only get one mind. Please don't waste them. Peace and love! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

If it was easy, then everyone would be doing it!

Hey! It's Marco! This message is specially dedicated to anyone going thru any personal crisis! If it was easy, everyone would be doing it! Quick question. Are you willing to give up what you want now in this moment for what you want most? Can you answer yes to this question? Again...It's not easy! But it is possible! It is possible! We all have obstacles and we all have our own personal challenges, trust me, I know. Most people can't do it. Most people won't do it! But you, you will! Why? Because every great champion does this! You must learn to build your commitment muscles! All you have to do is answer yes to this question. Will you give up the brownies and cheesecake to drop a couple of sizes? Will you give up a few hours of sleep to study for that big exam? Will you give up a night of television to spend more time with a loved one? YES! There is way too much negativity out there! People wanting to put you down. People wanting to see you fail! People making assumptions about the life they think you live. Avoid these people at all cost and learn to never take anything personal! There is never a need to be ego driven. Just accept these people and these things as the way it is. I know you can...but will you? That life you dream about is waiting! And you'll never see it without taking some kind of action! Please, don't quit! Most people give up to close to the finish line, to close to their dreams. Don't quit! Please, don't quit! And remember...Don't count the days, make the days count!

DO YOU SKIP BREAKFAST?

Hey! It's Marco! Why do people skip breakfast? Who knows and who cares? You know why I eat breakfast? Because I'm hungry and to push last night's meal through the system. Yes, to push it through! And you wondered why you're constipated all the time...EAT! If you're having an easy morning, eat an easy breakfast. If you're going to be busy, eat a heavier meal. Simple huh? I usually have a protein and fat meal first thing in the morning. Of course after I've had at least ten ounces of water. Got hydration? I'm big on green drinks as well. Here's a great get you started drink:
One scoop of Macro Greens. (Ask your Health food store) Not GNC!
One package of vitamin C powder. (Emergen-C)
One capful of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar.
One sprinkle of Cayenne pepper.
Sweeten with one package of Zylitol of Stevia. Mix into twelve ounces of water and drink up! Alkalize and energize! You'll thank me for it!
And remember...don't count the days, make the days count!

FIVE BAD WORDS!

Hey, it's Marco! Here are five words that will always stop progress. Ready? "I don't feel like it!" How many times have you said that? I know I have and you know what, sometimes I really DON'T feel like it! Going to exercise that is. But here's my trick! I have a 15 minute rule! And I'll share it with you. Not only does it apply to exercise, it can apply to anything. Housework? Yes! Studying? Yes! Time with the kids? Yes! Fill in the blank? Yes! Remember this...Activity cures everything! If you don't feel like exercising, try it for 15 minutes. If after 15 minutes, you still don't feel like it, go get some rest, but I guarantee you this, after 15 minutes, something amazing will happen! You'll be energized! Put your body in motion and the emotion will follow! It's so simple. Don't let your attitude determine your day! Unless it's a positive attitude! If you're tired, act energized! Act energized! That's how you will get to the next level! And I know you want to get to the next level! Your actions will change your attitude, your motion will change your emotions, and your movements will change your mood! Every delay is a wasted opportunity for getting the body you deserve! Do it! Do it now! And remember...don't count the days, make the days count!

DEDICATED TO ME!

Hey! It's Marco! What happened my friend? Where's the spark? Don't quit! Please, don't quit! Whatever it takes, Today, have the courage to keep moving forward! There are no problems in life, only obstacles that we must learn to overcome. Giving in to problems only proves you don't have the discipline to handle life's challenges! Remember, never let your outer world affect your inner world! You never need to explain yourself or argue with anyone. Kill the ego! Having a big ego can start a war! Be true to yourself, live, love, pray and know that you can become anyone and anything you desire! Stop asking "why?" and start asking "how?" There's still time! There's still time! Lots of time. Get busy or die! Everything you need is right inside of you! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

Gimme my Flu Shot, Now! Before I die!

Hey! It's Marco! Flu season has arrived! Yippie! Time for a flu shot! Or is it! Isn't it going to be getting colder soon? Will we not be bundling up? Halloween is right around the corner. Think we might just overdose on sugar? Eat candy until Thanksgiving? And what's up with Thanksgiving dinner anyway? Shouldn't it be a nice nutritious meal full of fruits and veggies? And why do we stuff our faces? Do we have to eat like pigs? And why so much? Turkey, ham, creamed corn, green bean surprise. Got sweet tea? Hey! Want some pumpkin pie? Coffee? How bout left over turkey sandwiches for a week? Dead animal sandwiches! No problem, everyone puts on the pounds this time of year. Right? Shut up Marco! Christmas is coming! Let's party! It's the Holiday season. Eat, drink, be merry! Shop! Christmas parties! Office parties, visits with family, friends, and let's not forget the outlaws! Oops, the inlaws. Why not overeat till New Years and fill our body with acidic foods, and soda and red bull and over work our digestive systems. Rock on! More meat gravy, buttery mashed potatoes. Forget exercise! Forget cleansing! New Year's eve is just around the corner and I'm gettin' drunk baby! Got alcohol? Hooya! Forget the goals and promises! Whoa! Where did that come from? Doesn't the flu season always seem to hit around the end or the beginning of the year? Don't most people run out to get their flu shots about this same time? Interesting! Think it's the flu? Or perhaps our lifestyles? If you put a person that's been poisoned next to a person that has the flu, do they not have the same symptoms? Fever, body aches, chills, diarrhea, vomiting, night sweats...Not today folks! Just something to think about the next time you consider getting a flu shot! Anyone care to debate? And remember...don't count the days, make the days count! Drake and Lauren...Love you!

Hey! It's Marco! Just a quick thought today from Lessons in Health! There is more money being spent on viagra and breast implants today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them! How sad...but true! Don't forget to exercise today! Killing time is not murder, it's suicide! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count! Be well!
PS. I finally "got" it! Stay tuned for why we procrastinate!

TWELVE HEALTHY THOUGHTS!

Hey! It's Marco!
*As I see it, there is probably a God and a devil and obviously people. Giving credit to God when something good happens or blaming the devil when something bad happens in your life, shifts personal responsibility. You are accountable for you.
*Never elevate your voice at home or in public unless it is an emergency. A loud person in quiet places is rarely appreciated and shows disrespect to others. It is best to leave their company.
*Raising your voice in frustration or anger is the sign of a weak mind. To argue in an emotional state is fruitless. Walk away and return when you have calmed down and can think clearly.
*When you consume anything in excess that is harmful to the body, do not question your health when it finally collapses. Even after learning to manage your addictions the ramifications to your health may not come to light right away.
*It is good to laugh at others once you have learned to laugh at yourself. Even then you may only laugh with them, but never at anyone else. Foolish behavior is unbecoming to all.
*Life is filled with learning opportunities. If you do not learn something new on a daily basis, you are doing something wrong. Continual learning stimulates the brain which may have health benefits as we age!
*Never harbor resentment or anger towards another person for not looking at life the same way as you. Negative emotions erode your body's energy and will cause poor health by stresssing the internal systems.
*If you have an extra dollar and wish to donate to a charity, think twice. Instead, give the contribution directly to someone you know personally that is in need ot it. That is always best.
*There are no problems in life, just tasks that require solutions. The word problem suggests that something is bigger than you can handle. All can be dealt with, however some issues may require more time.
*Media, containing adult material must be kept out of the reach of children. A child's innocence is sacred. They should not be exposed to the vices of this world until they have reached proper maturity.
*Care not what others think of you. Your energy will make others notice you. Some, because you demand respect will bow, the envious and insecure will either hang their heads in shame or challenge you.
*There are no Gods, devils and demons making decisions for you. Only people influence and corrupt. Religion, mythology, dogma and belief have their foundations in both truth and the herding of cattle. Be NOT a follower, be a LEADER!
Twelve things, twelve thoughts to ponder...and remember, don't count the days, make the days count! Now go exercise!

The Food Groups!

Hey! It's Marco! So I'm reading about the four food groups. This just doesn't sit right with me. Shouldn't there be more? How about these:
1. Eggs
2. Seafood
3. Dairy Products
4. Organ Meats
5. Nuts and Seeds
6. Beans and Legumes
7. Fats and Oils
8. Fibrous Garden Veggies
9. Potatoes
10. Breads, Cereals and Grains
11. Organ Meat
12. Fruits and Juices
Just a thought! And don't forget to chew your food. Your stomach doesn't have teeth! Unless of course you like really bad gas! Chew your food! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

But I don't have a gym membership!

Hey! It's Marco! Give me a jump rope, some floor space and a pair off dumbells, and I'll get you in shape! Forget the bench press! Forget the squats! Stop logging miles on the treadmill! No more curls, no more calorie counting, no more crappy pre-bought packaged food in a box! No more running in traffic, to heck with the celebrity fitness books! Stop eating twigs, dirt and rice cakes! And stop wasting money on supplements that just don't work! No more gadgets! No more gizmos! And no more three easy payments of just $19.99! Stop "waisting" time! (Waist...as in yours getting bigger!) Can you do some pushups? Some full body situps? Some standing or better yet, Hindu squats? Are you able to jump rope? How about some yoga poses? If not, go see your Doctor and cry about it or get off your butt and do something about it! Is getting back in shape difficult? Compared to what? Compared to running three marathons, having a baby, working two jobs? No! It's not that difficult, but it can be. It all depends on how you look at it. I guarantee getting healthy and fit is a heck of alot easier than spending weeks or months in the hospital recovering from some illness that you ate or drank your life into! Energy and being fit and healthy is life! Try creating a life, or spending time with your family and friends or going to work or just getting thru the day lifeless with no energy! Try it! Or are you living it? Tired all the time? It's no wonder no one likes you or you're no fun to be around. Stop blocking your success! Now! Need help? I'm just an email away! Remember, attitude is everything! I have my best workouts when I don't feel like exercising! Have a great weekend! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Hey! It's Marco! You know what? A life without purpose has no meaning! A life without purpose has no love! A life without purpose has no energy, no spirit! What happens when we have no life? We tend to get bored, and boredom can lead to inactivity so many of us turn to alcohol, drugs, and violence. This is not the way we are supposed to live! This is not the way! So let’s talk about ENERGY and how we can have more of it! It’s quite simple. What do we put into our bodies, junk or nutrition? If you are overweight, you don’t have to starve yourself or count calories. You don’t have to follow a dismal diet. You don’t have to fight cravings. You don’t have to live on grass and water. You do not have to suffer any longer! Activity Cures Everything! What do you know about digestion, sugar, sodas, dairy products, meat, coffee, stimulants, vitamins and minerals? I believe that the number one reason most people are overweight is because of EXCUSES. That’s right, excuses! I don’t have time to walk, I don’t have time to go to the gym, I have children or I have too many responsibilities. What about these; gym memberships are too expensive, I’ll get around to it or I’m just too tired. How about it’s my Thyroid, I’ve got bad knees. Being fat runs in my family. I hear it all the time, one of these days, yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell me about your habits. Are you locked into your daily habits? Are you addicted to your own BS? (Belief Systems) Most people don’t want to change and even more are looking for a magic pill. I even know some that run to the plastic surgeon once a year to get the fat sucked out. Why would anyone go thru such pain and agony when all it takes are a few simple changes? Are you willing to give up what you want in the moment now, for what you truly deserve in the future? Here’s one of my favorite quotes; “don’t trade what you want most for what you want in the moment!” Listen, there are many hard things in life, but only one sad thing...and that's giving up! Remember, you have the world's greatest computer sitting right on top of your shoulders! What are you doing with yours! Stay tuned...the website will be up soon! I promise, I'll do my very best to get you in the best shape possible! Absolutely, positively, guaranteed! Oh yeah...don't count the days, make the days count!

NOT READING THIS, COULD KILL YOU!

Hey! It's Marco! On the morning of his 42nd birthday, Grabwell Grommet awoke to a peal of particularly ominous thunder. Glancing out the window with his bleary eyes, he saw written in fiery letters: "SOMEONE IS TRYING TO KILL YOU, GRABWELLGROMMET!"
With shaking hands, Grommet lit his first cigarette of the day. He didn't question the message. You don't question messages like that. His only question was, "Who?"
At breakfast as he salted his fried eggs and buttered his toast, he told his wife, Gratia, "Someone is trying to kill me." "Who?" she asked with horror.
Grommet slowly stirred the cream and sugar into his coffee and shook his head, "I don't know," he said. Convinced though he was, Grommet wasn't going to the police with his story. He decided his only course was to go about his daily routine and hope to somehow outwit his would be murderer. He tried to think on the drive to the office. But the frustration of making time by beating lights and switching lanes occupied him wholly. Nor, once behind his desk, could he think a moment what with jangling phones, urgent memos and the problems and decisions piling in as they did each day.
It wasn't until his second martini at lunch that the full terror of his position struck him. It was all he could do to finish his Lasagna Milanese. "I can't panic," he said to himself, lighting his cigar. "I simply must live my life as usual."
So he worked until seven as usual. Drove home fast as usual. Studied business reports as usual. And he took his usual two Seconal capsules in order to get his usual six hours sleep. As days passed, the man fully stuck to his routine. And as the months went by, he began to take a perverse pleasure in his ability to survive.
"Whoever's trying to get me," he'd say proudly to his wife, "hasn't got me yet. I'm too smart for him."
"Oh, please be careful," she'd reply, ladling him a second helping of beef stroganoff. The pride grew as he managed to go on living for years.
But as it must to all men, death came at last to Grabwell. It came at his desk on a particularly busy day. He was 53.
His grief-stricken widow demanded a full autopsy. But it showed only emphysema, arteriosclerosis, duodenal ulcers, cirrhosis of the liver, cardiac necrosis, cerebrovascular aneurysm, pulmonary edema, obesity, circulatory insufficiency and a touch of lung cancer.
"How glad Grabwell would have been to know," said the widow smiling proudly through her tears, "that he died of natural causes." Think on that everyone! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

What did I eat today?

Hey! It's Marco. Just received an email about my diet. I don't like that word, "diet." What I eat could fill up a small book, so I responded with what I had eaten on Friday.
For Breakfast: Every morning upon awakening, I have a green drink. (www.macrogreens.com) In the drink, I add a capful of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, one packate of Vitamin C powder, one quarter teaspoon on cayenne pepper and sweeten with Stevia or Zylitol. I then had a bag of stir fry veggies and two eggs.
For Snack: One bowl of oatmeal, with rice milk and water, and some plums.
For Lunch: Big juicy organic grass fed burger! Yummy! With no bread. Salad and more veggies.
For Snack: Vanilla protein shake with pecans, almonds, and a tablespoon of yogurt. (For protein powder, I use Jay Robb, Don Lemmon's Complete Protein or the NOW brand. )
For Dinner: Grilled chicken breast with my special veggie tomatoe sauce. (Garlic, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach...)
For Snack: Had a little cottage cheese with avocado. I add flax seeds, some protein and fiber to this meal.
Okay...so I usually eat this way. Now that doesn't mean I don't still have the pizza, sushi, BBQ, pasta, etc. I just prefer to eat my carbs with carbs, and my protein with fats! Well, most of the time. Things just appear to digest better this way. Try it! When one starts mixing all of these items together...I really don't care to be around when all the GAS starts to show up! OH! And I chew my food! Peace and love!
Marco.

What's stopping you?

Hey! It's Marco! So what's stopping you from getting in shape? From having a stronger and healthier body? Are you busy and have no time? A millionaire and a bum have the same 24 hours in a day! Problems? Everyone has problems. If you don't take care of them, they will be with you for a lifetime! So use them to get better, stronger and healthier! Problems are just challenges. Find a solution. Don't have a gym membership? I rarely get to the gym! And I'm still in better shape than most people. Too tired? You're tired because you're lazy? You had time to get fat didn't you? Listen, stop making excuses and stop wasting time! Killing time is not murder, it's suicide! Stop wasting time living someone else's life! Stop watching the garbage that's on television. Stop looking for a magic pill! They don't exist! And stop the stress! Stress will make you fat and sick! And stop the procrastination! Procrastination is nothing more than getting ready to get ready! And it will get you nowhere...until later. All you need to get started is 20 tiny, little minutes. Ten minutes in the morning, ten minutes in the afternoon. Make it happen. Make it a habit! Soon the 20 minutes will become 30. You'll look better, you'll feel better, and you'll be happier with your success. Baby steps! Go, Be, Do! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

JUST A THOUGHT...

Hey! It's Marco! You know what's weird and rather interesting? If I don't feel like running tonight, yet I still go, I'll perform just as well as if I had felt like running. That's amazing, huh? Why is that and what does this mean? If you put your mind and body in motion, the emotion will follow! I heard a great quote today: "People of action are favored by the Goddess of good luck!" Just because I don't feel like doing something, doesn't mean I still can't do it. Think about this. What is it that you think you can't do but really can? Drop some weight? Start a business? Get along with the outlaws, er, I mean the inlaws. Feelings aren't facts! That negative inner dialog is usually nothing more than a lie! Just because you feel tired doesn't mean you are tired! Perhaps these feelings are just fantasy or a psychological game we're playing with ourselves. Are you tired? Are you unhappy? Are you depressed? I didn't think so. Work with me here! I'm doing my best to practice what I preach! These messages are to me, for me, by me, to inspire me to become a better person. The benefit is...they may just help you! And if I'm helping you, I'm helping myself! Nothing is unfair in life! Go! Be! Do! Be strong, live long! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

ACTIVITY CURES EVERYTHING!

Hey! It's Marco! Are you down? Lacking energy? Did you know that if you could put exercise in a capsule, it would be the most popular pill in the world! WOW! And no side effects! Read on...Move! You've got to move! You don't need a gym and you don't need any fancy shoes! All you have to do is walk! Walk! And it's totally free. That's it! Nothing to buy either! Do you want to shed some bodyfat? Walk! Are you depressed? Walk! Got nothing to do? Walk! How bout high blood pressure? Shut up and walk! It's that simple. So let's get addicted to something good for a change! Exercise is one of the best remedies on the planet! So walk...or run! Thirty minutes a day! Just try it! You'll like it! You'll want to do it again, and again! You'll tell people about it! And it's easy...you can walk by yourself. You can walk with a friend. You can walk with your pet, your spouse and even your kids! Just walk! Thirty minutes a day. Walk to the end of the street. Walk to your neighbor's house. (Borrow an egg or something) Then walk back! You'll look better, you'll feel better and your body will appreciate it! Absolutely, positively, guaranteed! And as a matter of fact, it's so easy, you can start right now! Activity cures everything! And remember...don't count the days, make the days count!

Is Attitude everything?

Hey! It's Marco! If you have a horrible attitude, how can you compete with someone who has an outstanding attittude? You can't! Attitude is everything! How would you feel if you had a better attitude? How would you look? How would you stand? How would you breathe? The next time you find yourself with a bad attitude, pick yourself up? Want to know how? Do something nice for someone else! Not only will they feel better, you will feel better too! Change your actions, change your thoughts and you'll change your feelings! And never let your setbacks become your identity. You are not a victim. And don't believe everything you think! The majority of your thoughts are not true! Getting healthy ain't Hocus Pocus...it's Focus Focus! You'll never know how truly wonderful being totally healthy, vibrant and fit feels until you get there! So start today! Imagine if you had started a year ago how much better you would be feeling today! Why wait, it's the start that stops most people! Be strong, live long! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

Go All Out!

Hey! It's Marco! It's a holiday weekend and everyone I've spoken to has major plans. Beer, BBQ, picnics, fiestas, festivals, travel and time with friends and family. While all of that is okay, I know that a large percentage of these fine folks will awake Sunday morning with the infamous "hangover!" I know, I've had my share...and I never want to nurse one again! Back in the day, I probably spilled more alcohol than most people drink in a lifetime! This weekend, do something good for yourself! Get in some exercise, have a good cleanse and enjoy those around you. Spend time with loved ones or get outside with the children and enjoy the sunshine! Stay away from the negativity! Don't give in to temptation! And never allow your circumstances to affect your attitude! Enjoy the weekend and be fully engaged! If you get side tracked, know that life is a marathon, not a sprint. Correct the mistakes and get back on track. Love plus laughter equals ENERGY! Have a blissful weekend, and remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

Quick Note!

Hey! It's Marco! For all of you out there setting goals...STOP! Do this! Make promises! I'll bet you move forward much faster this way! What do you think? Everyone breaks goals but a promise, now that's a keeper, especially a pinky promise! I promise to take better care of myself, my family, my body, my mind and my friends! Oh, and my vehicle! Do it! I promise you'll feel better. You want a 10 day challenge? It's called the no "C's" for ten days! NO cake, cookies caffeine, cola, chocolate, cheese, candy, coffee, complaining and criticizing! I know you can do it, but will you? And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

WHAT'S STOPPING YOU?

When the horse dies, get off! Hey! It's Marco! So what's stopping you from getting into shape? From living a healthier lifestyle? From having the body you deserve? Could it be a spouse or partner that's just not into wellness? A full time job that takes up most of your time? I can come up with a million excuses, so let me stop now! Know this, what you refuse to confront will eventually conquer you. Change your beliefs! You probably think that you're too old to workout, or too busy. None of this is true! Get to the gym, get to the track or just get out of the house and move! You'll never attain self confidence from the comfort of your living room! Unless you're doing P90X by Mike Horton. That program rocks by the way! And stop listening to that stupid negative voice inside your head! The negative voice inside your head is nothing but a lie! Don't let this voice overcome you! If you've got problems, handle them! One at a time and move on without hesitation to the next one. Handle them and take control of your life! You found the time to get fat, now make the time to get healthy! Activity Cures Everything! Getting into shape and getting your health back is not difficult! It's just time consuming. Make it fun! Make it happen! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

Call your Doctor before exercising!

Hey! It's Marco! Did you ever notice in most health and fitness literature the disclaimer that reads something like: "Before starting any fitness program, consult your Physician?" It appears that we can be sued for trying to help someone get into shape. Give me a break! Are people so out of shape that it takes a Doctor to tell them to get off their ass and move? It's certainly okay for me to invite someone over to watch the game and offer them alcohol, chips and dip, donuts, pizza with greasy sausage, unhealthy pizza crust and bottom of the barrel cheese! Oh! And let's wash it down with some diet soda or a couple of beers! But let me show someone how to do a push up and have them get hurt (idiots) and it's perfectly alright for them to sue me. (Don't even try! My attorney will destroy you!) Why can't we sue someone for helping us have a heart attack? Well, let me give you two secret weapons that will help you get in shape and get healthy! And no one can sue me for having you enjoy these things...Attitude and Determination! Having a great attitude will allow you to see the good in everything and be thankful for it! Determination will get you through all the BS! (Belief Systems) Determination will get you through the hard times! You deserve to have a great life and excellent health! What are you going to do about it? Don't tell me, show me and I'll know just how serious you are! From this moment on, never say "I have got to go workout." Say this instead..."I get to go workout!" Turn your "I gots" into "I get." Feel the difference? Great! Now GO...BE...DO! You were born perfect! Stop destroying it! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!
Peace/Love/Happy!

Overweight and Outta Shape

Arrrgggg! Hey! It's Marco! Are you overweight? Out of shape? Does your backside drag the sand when you walk down the beach? Does pulling up your jeans remind you of putting sheets on a waterbed? When you roll over on your side, does your belly do the same? Does lacing your shoes leave you breathless? What happened? I'll tell you what happened! Food happened! Lazy happened! Excuses happened! What's on cable happened! No, you're not big boned and no, it's probably not your Thyroid either! You like being fat! If you didn't, you wouldn't be fat! You want to be out of shape and unhealthy, otherwise...you wouldn't be! And you know I'm right! So what are you going to do about it? Probably nothing. You've been this way for so long, why change? And crappy food taste SO good. You're comfortable. I know. Aches and pains, bad knees, no time. How would you look if you had no excuses? How would you feel? Are you setting a good example for others? Do you wake up to coffee and donuts? I know you want to look and feel better. And you can. But will you? Do you want more energy? Act energized? Move! Every action begins with a thought! Thoughts are things! Start today. Walk for twenty minutes. Do a few pushups and standing squats daily. Jumping jacks? Clean the car? Play with the kids? Life is all about energy, and once you have some you'll want more. It's amazing the things you can do when you're full of love and energy! Remember, procrastination will get you nowhere until later. Want to know what foods to eat for maximum energy? Send me an email! And remember, don't count the days, make the days count!

An emergency!

Hey! It's Marco! Just a thought! Could you save your own life in an emergency? Heaven forbid a catastrophy, but would you be able to swim far enough, run fast and long enough to protect yourself from an attack? Or an invasion? I'm not referring to having huge muscles. I'm talking about functional strength. Endurance. Confidence. My fitness go to Guru is Matt Furey. Matt asks these questions...
Can you swim at least half a mile? Can you run at top speed for at least 200 yards? Can you jump over obstacles higher than your waist? Can you pull your body upwards with your arms at least 15 times? Can you dip between parallel bars at least 25 times? Can you go without food for at least 24 hours? Can you run two miles in 20 minutes? Can you breathe deeply and remain calm while under stress? Could you hit someone hard enough with your foot, fist, elbow or knee to knock them out? Does walking to your car with groceries sometimes leave you out of breath? Doing these things easily should be a promise you make to yourself. If you find these activities difficult...when would NOW be a good time to start a fitness program? Just a thought! I'll have some basic exercise and nutrition programs posted very soon! Imagine having the body and energy YOU deserve! Remember...it's the start that stops most people! Don't count the days, make the days count!

Elephant Eating

Hey! It's Marco...so my buddy asked me how to eat an elephant. Please...give me a break! But he's serious, so I respond with "How?" One bite at a time! Ok. I get it, but did I REALLY get it? You know what, he's right? Especially when it comes to exercise. Even eating! You see, it's better to do a little alot, than to do alot a little! Even students can do this! Why study all night, when one can study and prepare an hour a day. Why train all day once a week when you can certainly find twenty to thirty minutes to exercise daily. It's quick and it's simple. Sometimes I exercise for ten minutes in the morning, ten minutes in the afternoon and get in some chin ups and Hindu squats before showering for bed. Appreciate what ever you can get in! You are in charge of your life. And don't worry if you miss a workout. Everyone has setbacks, but did you know a SETBACK is a SET UP for a COME BACK? Life is going to happen no matter what. Pick yourself up, get back out there and fight the next round! Life ain't over yet! Sometimes, all it takes is ten pushups to get someone started! Don't need no gym to do pushups! And the last time I checked, walking was still FREE! Don't count the days...make the days count!

Skipping Breakfast?

Hey!
Mix into twelve ounces of water. Alkalize and energize! You'll thank me for it!
And remember...don't count the days, make the days count!
