Get Your Flu Shot Today. Because, well, it might just work. Sort of..

Just in time for “flu season” to start gearing up across the US, the Centers for Disease Control have made a shocking statement: This year’s flue vaccine doesn’t work. In a statement made by the director of the C.D.C., Dr. Thomas R. Frieden says, “Flu is unpredictable, but what we’ve seen thus far is concerning…”
Flu Shots: Get one or two today..

The Art of Wu Wei - Accomplish More Without Struggle, Str...

Do you love coffee or know someone who does? ‘Tis the season for the fanciest possible version of everything, and your hot beverage is no exception.

Places like Starbucks have taken flavored coffees to  whole new level. At my local grocery store, there’s an entire refrigerated unit dedicated to decadent flavored creamers. Unfortunately, those creamers are rife with chemicals, including artificial flavors and neurotoxins like aspartame and sucralose.  You certainly aren’t giving someone a “treat” by putting that stuff in their coffee. Here’s the list of ingredients for Coffeemate’s Hazelnut Creamer:

WATER, SUGAR, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN AND/OR COTTONSEED OIL, AND LESS THAN 2% OF SODIUM CASEINATE (A MILK DERIVATIVE)**, MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES, DIPOTASSIUM PHOSPHATE, COLOR ADDED, CELLULOSE GEL, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS, CELLULOSE GUM, CARRAGEENAN, DEXTROSE.

Sooooo….there’s no actual cream involved, nor is there any hazelnut mentioned in that chemistry project.  Yum.

How to handle "Distractions" This is just Beautiful...

The Four Agreements Practical Guide to Personal Freedom AUDIOBOOK By Do...

The Four Agreements are:

1. Be Impeccable with your Word:
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the Word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your Word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

Yoga for a Healthy Heart: Is this really possible??

How Yoga Heals:

What if the simple act of doing yoga could heal your diseased heart?
A new study titled, "Effects of Yoga in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure: A Meta-Analysis," reveals that this ancient practice, ever-increasing in popularity in the West, has profound benefits to those who are suffering from cardiovascular disease.

Previous to this study, the idea that yoga could heal a diseased heart was considered strictly theoretical, which is what motivated a team of Portuguese researchers to put the concept to the test.

The team performed a meta-analysis of the published research on the topic of how yoga might improve exercise capacity and health-related quality of life in patients with chronic heart failure.

One Day to Live... got time ??

Take a moment and think about what you would do if you knew you only had one more day to live. Would you act any differently?

How would you relate to and treat your family and friends? Would you show them more respect and concern? Would there be some people you would ignore rather than allow them to waste the precious time you had left? Would there be some past misunderstanding that you would set straight?

What would you do if you had just one more day to live?

Next, consider how you spend your time each day. Are you glued to the TV watching the latest reality show? Do you spend time on idle gossip? Do you play time-wasting games on Facebook? Do you read all the emails that get forwarded to you?

Here’s what I really want you to consider. If you knew you had just one more day to live, how would you change the priorities of your life? Would you suddenly focus on what was truly important and ignore a lot of activities that consume your average day? It doesn’t matter to me what your answer is, but I do believe you should be honest with yourself.

You may think this exercise is foolish since you’re in good health and expect to have many more days to live. But in truth, you can only live today. You can’t live in the future; it isn’t here yet. And although some people spend a lot of their time in the past, they can’t change it. There’s nothing we can do to alter the past. And the future will unfold with circumstances and challenges we can’t anticipate. We can only live today. Life is lived one day at a time, and today is the only day you can live your life. When tomorrow does come, it will be today.

If you really put some thought into the questions I’ve posed, you’ll realize that there are lots of moments when you aren’t truly living today to its fullest. You can’t save life until tomorrow. You can either make the most of today or you can choose to waste it. You can spend your time on unimportant things or you can focus on what truly matters to you.

If you answered my earlier questions and found that you would change your behavior if you only had one day to live, I suggest you give some thought to focusing more on what’s important to you in life. Today is truly the only day you can live. Make the most of it. Because someday, it will be the last day of your life, and then it will be too late to change...

Mindfulness Breathing Exercise

The Value of an Hour: Read all about it !!

“If you invest one hour each day in understanding yourself and your environment better, you will accumulate nine 40-hour weeks over the course of a year!”
Yikes! As you can imagine I was blown away by this information.
Nine 40-hour weeks? This seemed impossible until I did the math. 365 days, times one hour each is…yup, nine 40-hour weeks!
How good could you get at something if you did it all day, every day for just over 2 months. Well, you already know the answer to that.
I thought I could be awesome!
If we do this over the course of just five years, I would have invested the equivalent of 1,825 hours of focus on whatever I desired to accomplish my life. Speak Mandarin anyone? got French?
Imagine for a minute, how good you can become at anything that you did one hour a day for the next year. How fit could you get? How much more in love would you get and give? How much more money could you earn?
Let me suggest that one hour is a small price to pay in comparison to the payoff. Just one hour a day may be the razor’s edge you need to really get the results you want in your life.
For me, the decision was easy. I have been studying human potential and the mind for over 10 years. Each time I think I’m getting a good handle on it, I am gently reminded of how much there is to observe and learn.
Is getting what you want worth an hour a day? I certainly hope so.
I still manage to set aside my hour to read motivational stories or listen to inspirational people. They are the fuel for my mind and it keeps me learning and yearning for more.
Please adopt an hour a day for yourself! Pick one area of your life that you want to improve and commit the next 90 days to that one thing.
I assure you that the results you achieve will be well worth the decision! And remember…you can’t take out of life more than you put in. Just Do It !! You'll be glad you did. Absolutely, positively, guaranteed.   Hugs !!

Vitamin D Ain't no Vitamin... But it's Damn Good !!

Whatever condition and disease you study, vitamin D keeps coming up as a major factor. That's right, no matter what illness you study, you find vitamin D deficiency to be a factor. This includes cancer, diabetes, CHD, and the other deadly diseases. Vitamin D is the most important and deficient vitamin of all. Vitamin D is vital for prostate and breast health. These are the two leading male and female cancers. All American men will have cancer cells in their prostate if they live past 60. One in eight American women will get breast cancer. Vitamin D is the most important vitamin for bone and joint health. 95% of Americans over the age of 65 suffer from some form of arthritis or similar inflammation. Vitamin D is vital for cardiovascular health. Vitamin D is vital to help prevent diabetes. Strong immunity is related to vitamin D. Longevity depends in part on vitamin D levels. Our emotional and mental health is related to vitamin D levels. Vitamin D deficiency is an epidemic in most of the world. Most people do not get enough sun exposure. It is not in your food. It only comes from sun exposure.

Did anyone ever tell you that vitamin D really isn't a vitamin at all, but a hormone? That's right, it is actually a hormone, and not a vitamin. Vitamins come from the daily food we eat, and there is no meaningful amounts of "vitamin" D in any food. Vitamin D comes from exposure to sunlight, and most of us do not get enough exposure to sunlight to make enough of it. In winter, and in northern climates, this is especially true. If you take All Your Vitamins® (you get this when you buy All Your Minerals®), or any other common vitamin formula, you will get the RDA of 400 IU (which equals 10 mcg). You should not take more than 800-1,200 IU daily. Pseudo-authorities, who tell you to take 2,000 to 5,000 IU, are crackpots. Hyper levels of vitamin D, or any nutrient, will hurt your health, not help it. There are numerous studies to prove this. Vitamin D is a powerful, oil soluble hormone, and high doses are dangerous. Hyper blood levels have been shown to harm your health. The National Health Examination Survey of 15,000 people proved excessive blood levels cause serious harm (American Journal of Cardiology v 109, 2012). You do not need more than a total 400 IU supplement when you are getting exposed to the sun regularly. If you get in the sun from, say, June to September, you should not take anymore than what's in your daily vitamin supplement. During the rest of the year take an extra 400 to 800 IU in addition to your daily vitamin tablet.

There are several forms of vitamin D including D1, D2 and D3. You want to take D3 (calciferol). Vitamin D3 is converted in our bodies to the active form, which is dihydroxy vitamin D. Doctors and pharmaceutical corporations keep promoting dangerous, synthetic, expensive, prescription-only analogs of vitamin D. These can be patented, rather than sold over the counter. It is important not to take too much D3, as it is oil soluble, toxic in excess, and will result in serious side effects. Since you can't get any meaningful amounts in common foods, this is not a problem at all.

Remember how popular cod liver oil has been for decades now? This is really because of the vitamin D content. People often really do get dramatic results from simply taking a spoonful of cod liver oil. This is because they are getting the vitamin D they need so badly. Of course, taking a multivitamin with vitamin D is a much more practical- and tasty- way to do this.

There are many reasons we suffer from so many diseases and conditions in the richest country in the world with the highest standard of living. One important and proven reason is lack of vitamin D in most people. Study after study shows people of all ages in all countries are deficient in vitamin D by serum blood analysis. This is especially true of black people, obese people, the poor, and the elderly. These people should take 1,200 IU. Along with your multiple vitamin just take an extra 400 IU or 800 IU capsule of inexpensive vitamin D when you're not getting out in the sun regularly. No matter how well you eat, you aren't going to get any significant amount in your diet. If you are in the sun regularly you only need the 400 IU in your daily multivitamin. No, you do not need to get your blood level tested.

The published science behind this is just overwhelming and growing by the day. People of all ages should take it. Vitamin D deficiency is a worldwide epidemic. In every single country that has been studied, the residents were deficient on average. Ironically, even those in tropical and sub-tropical countries have been found to be low. The massive Tromsoe Study (European Journal of Endocrinology v 162, 2010) showed that low levels were actually associated with all-cause mortality. The lower your serum vitamin D, the sooner you die! Just take a proper supplement every day and no more than 1,200 IU.

What is Processed Food? FAT, SALT, SUGAR AND WTF ??

Writer Melanie Warner, whose new behind-the-scenes-look-at-the-world-of-processed-foods book, Pandora's Lunchbox, spent the past year and a half doing exactly that. In her quest to explore the murky and convoluted world of soybean oil, milk protein concentrates (a key ingredient in processed cheese), and petroleum-based artificial dyes, she spoke to food scientists, uncovered disturbing regulatory loopholes in food law, and learned just how little we know about many of the food products on supermarket shelves.

Eating Healthy on a Budget. $$

Eating healthy does not have to mean expensive grocery bills. Here are some of my favorite tips for eating healthy on a budget!

1. Plan Ahead- Make a grocery list and stick to it. The best way to avoid impulse buying is to plan what you need before you get to the store. That way you are not tempted to buy things that you don’t need.

2. Be Prepared- Pack your lunches, snacks, and eat before you go out. When you pack your own food you prevent yourself from over eating, you always know what is in your food, and you save time and money!

3. Buy in Bulk- There are times when it is smart to buy in bulk. One example is discounted meat. If you look for discounts on meat and buy it in big batches, you can store it in your freezer until you are ready to use it. It is also smart to buy products in bulk that you use a lot. For example, if you use a lot of lettuce, look for one large bag, and compare the price to two smaller bags. Chances are, buying more of something that you will use will save you money in the long run.

4. Buy Frozen- If you think you won’t be able to use something up before it spoils such as fruit or vegetables, buy them frozen. Not only will this save you money, but it will prevent you from throwing money away on spoiled groceries.

5. Buy In-Season Produce- Food grown in season is not only more affordable, but it also tastes better. Look for root vegetables in the winter, apples, potatoes, and squash in the fall, and broccoli and berries in the summer. Farmers markets may also have a better deal on produce than grocery stores.

6. Buy Generic- Name brands often have increased prices due to the packaging and advertising costs.

7. Clip Coupons- Sign up for newsletters about sales and deals at the stores you frequently shop at. Investing a few minutes clipping and/or printing coupons each week can save you a lot of money on groceries.

8. Get the Customer Card- Many grocery stores hold sales and specials for customer card holders only. Signing up for these costumer cards are often free and only take a few moments.

9. Buy a Reusable Water Bottle- Don’t spend money on soft drinks, juices, or bottled water. Instead invest in a few nice water bottles and refill them. Not only will this save you money, but it will save you tons of sugar and calories!

10. Get Creative with Leftovers- If you happen to have leftovers of some of your ingredients, don’t throw them away. Instead, put them to good use and get creative by putting them into a different recipe, or freeze them if possible.

Benefits of Intermittent Fasting

What is Intermittent Fasting ??

Why is it worthwhile to change when you’re eating? Intermittent fasting is not a diet, it’s a pattern of eating. It’s a way of scheduling your meals so that you get the most out of them.
Intermittent fasting doesn’t change what you eat, it changes when you eat. Well, most notably, it’s a great way to get lean without going on a crazy diet or cutting your calories down to nothing. In fact, most of the time you’ll try to keep your calories the same when you start intermittent fasting. (Most people eat bigger meals during a shorter time frame.) Additionally, intermittent fasting is a good way to keep muscle mass on while getting lean. With all that said, the main reason people try intermittent fasting is to lose fat.

Dynamic VS Static Stretching: What's the difference? Huh?

Things to think about before you take your Meds...

What does it mean when it says “take on an empty stomach” or “take with food” because I never adhere to those warnings and I’m still alive.  Does it really matter? —J.J., Denver, CO
Answer: It matters in most cases, but not all.  With antibiotics, it may be that your medicine reaches a higher blood level when you take it on an empty stomach, but over the course of therapy, it doesn’t change the outcome, meaning the pathogens are killed. With other medications, for example sleeping pills, a warning to avoid alcohol is important and should be adhered to because the combination could be fatal.  Same thing with certain antidepressants (MAO inhibitors) that can’t be combined with cheese, or death could result.  For your safety, let me give you the proper questions to ask your doctor and/or pharmacist:
1. What is the name of the condition that you are treating me for?
2. What is the brand name and generic name of the medication that you’re prescribing?
3. Do I take it in the morning, or at night, or divide the dose throughout the day?
4. Better with food or empty stomach?
5. About how long before I begin to see results?
6. Is there a less expensive generic alternative?
7. Are there any supplements that could help this medicine work better, or any to avoid?
8.  Is it okay to drink wine (if that applies) with my medicine?
9.  Will coffee, dairy or mineral supplements inactivate my medicine?
10. How long do I stay on this medication? Some medications are only intended for a few days or weeks, but people remain on them indefinitely. This is the most important question to ask.
If the caution label states “on an empty stomach” that means 2 hours after you eat, or 1 hour beforehand. If it states “take with food” it means to take it while eating or right after.  If it says “do not operate machinery or equipment …” that is your clue that your medicine makes you drowsy or clumsy. It means to avoid driving, using a chainsaw, mowing your lawn or anything that requires you to focus.
Here’s another good rule of thumb: Start low and go slow! With medications, the lowest effective dose is ideal. You don’t need to kill a fly with a shotgun and if you try, you could wind up with side effects that you would not experience with a lower dose. And finally, if you notice your medication keeps you up at night, then don’t take it too late in the day. Examples of medicines that are best taken in the morning include thyroid medicine, steroids like prednisone, attention-deficit drugs like Ritalin or the fatigue buster Provigil.  Examples of medicine that should be taken at night include certain antihistamines (like diphenhydramine), anxiolytics like alprazolam, pain medicines like hydrocodone and muscle relaxers.  If in doubt, call your local pharmacist or physician.

The Strength of Black and White (ft. Alan Watts)

When we were taught 1, 2, 3 and A, B, C, few of us were ever told about the Game of Black-and-White. It is quite as simple. but belongs to the hushed-up side of things. Consider, first, that all your five senses are differing forms of one basic sense–something like touch. Seeing is highly sensitive touching. The eyes touch, or feel, light waves and so enable us to touch things out of reach of our hands. Similarly, the ears touch sound waves in the air, and the nose tiny particles of dust and gas. But the complex patterns and chains of neurons which constitute these senses are composed of neuron units which are capable of changing between just two states: on or off. To the central brain the individual neuron signals either yes or no — that’s all. But, as we know from computers which employ binary arithmetic in which the only figures are 0 and 1, these simple elements can be formed into the most complex and marvelous patterns. Intrigued? I am ...

What Causes Bad Breath?

Bad breath, medically referred as halitosis, is brought on by excessive bacterial activity on the tongue in most cases (85%-90%), and gum disease which produces high levels of foul odors mainly due to the breakdown of proteins into individual amino acids, followed by further breakdown of certain amino acids to produce sulfur compounds. The stomach is considered by most experts to be a very uncommon source of bad breath. It is because the esophagus is closed, and a reflux serious enough to be bringing up stomach contents between the stomach and the esophagus indicates a health problem (i.e., gastroesophageal reflux disease or GERD). That said, only an extremely small percentage of bad breath problems may arise from stomach and digestion problems. Since halitosis is almost always caused by a problem in the mouth, home remedies used against bad breath, such as mints and gum, may only temporarily mask the odors but cannot cure your bad breath. Eliminating the source of halitosis is an effective solution. I recommend that you visit a dentist first. If no oral cause of your bad breath can be identified by the dentist, I suggest an appointment with a primary care doctor or gastroenterologist (GI) to be evaluated for underlying reason for the potential stomach problem or any other condition that is causing your bad breath so that you can be treated appropriately. Now you know.

How To Get into Shape When You're Really, Really out of Shape.

Every exercise plan begins with a single step. If you are extremely out of shape, focus on short-term goals so that you do not feel overwhelmed. The simplest way to begin a fitness plan is to incorporate walking into your daily life. Set small goals such as parking further from where you work or taking an evening stroll around the neighborhood with family. Use a pedometer to measure the number of steps you walk. After a week, divide the total number of steps by the number of days you walked to get your average number of steps per workout. (You might want to sign up with this guy) Spend the next week slowly adding to your number of steps so that the week totals another 1,000 steps. Your long-term goal should be to walk 10,000 steps per day.

** Note from Marco ** Exercise is work. It elevates your heart rate, makes you somewhat breathless, and causes your muscles to burn. It's tiring—sometimes exhausting. Yes, exercise does get easier with time, but it will never be "easy." If it were easy, it wouldn’t be exercise and everyone would be doin' it. You see, beyond just getting your body moving (which is great but will only get you so far), exercise has to challenge you. You have to work past your comfort zone in order to train your heart, lungs, and muscles to get stronger and fitter. Over time, yes it will become easier to walk at the 3 mph pace you started, but once that becomes easy, it's time to walk faster, which brings me to another cold, hard truth: You have to work harder as you get fitter. Think of it exercise as a challenge to continuously improve on what you just accomplished. Remember, it's the start that stops most people.

Are You Cooking Your Way to Illness? Something to think about..

Marco here, oh, and Happy Easter! Did you know that Eating foods cooked at high temperature increases the rate at which we age. Yuck! Scientists uncovered back in 2003 that ingestion of high temperature cooked foods resulted in chronic inflammation and accelerated glycation.

Newly published studies confirm these dangers. For example, breast and prostate cancers are sharply increased in those who eat heavily cooked meat like hamburgers.4-8

The article below will explain how to choose safely cooked foods and methods to protect your body against the lethal impact of foods prepared at excessively high temperatures.

Run From the Cure 2 (TRAILER)

RUN FROM THE CURE: The Rick Simpson Story - A Film by Christian Laurette

After a serious head injury in 1997, Rick Simpson sought relief from his medical condition through the use of medicinal hemp oil. When Rick discovered that the hemp oil (with its high concentration of T.H.C.) cured cancers and other illnesses, he tried to share it with as many people as he could free of charge, curing and controlling literally hundreds of people's illnesses... but when the story went public, the long arm of the law snatched the medicine -- leaving potentially thousands of people without their cancer treatments -- and leaving Rick with unconsitutional charges of possessing and trafficking marijuana!

Can We Really HEAL our own Cavities?

Tooth decay, as researched by Dr. Weston Price and other dental pioneers, boiled down to three factors:
Not enough minerals in the diet.
Not enough fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) in the diet.
Nutrients not being readily bioavailable, and your intestinal system not properly absorbing them. The presence of phytic acid largely influences this factor.
Over a period of time, if your diet lacks vitamins and minerals from a poor diet and/or contains high levels of phytates (from grains, seeds, nuts, and legumes), the blood chemistry and the ratio of calcium and phosphorous become out of balance, which results in minerals being pulled from bones, causing tooth and bone loss.
So, the long-standing belief that sugar causes tooth decay is true, but as a result of it depleting nutrients from the body, not because bacteria eat it and produce acid that ruins your teeth.

Curing Cavities Television Interview - - www.curetoothdecay.com

Ramiel Nagel, in his book Cure Tooth Decay, examines common dental theories and thoroughly explains how these theories have failed us. He teaches us how certain special whole foods can make our teeth sound and resistant to decay. The author not only shows the reader how to prevent gum disease and tooth decay…but how to heal it once it has occurred. Nagel refutes the widely accepted idea that carbohydrates (such as sugar) sticking to the teeth.... is the prime cause of tooth decay. One of the main points the author shares with us is that it is not the food and bacteria in our mouths which cause tooth decay but it is instead…the condition or structure of our teeth which determines whether or not our teeth will become affected by tooth decay. The author stresses the point that diet is the key factor in preventing and curing many dental problems.

Think Raw Veggies are Best? Think Again

Not everything should be eaten raw, especially vegetables! Some raw vegetables must be cooked else you are actually harming yourself.  Below is a rundown of what veggies should not be eaten raw either in whole or juiced form. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but cruciferous vegetables should be cooked before eating as they contain chemicals that BLOCK the production of thyroid hormone in your body! Considering that 2 out of every 3 Westerners are either overweight or obese and this is projected to jump to 75% by 2020, this is of particular importance as folks struggling with weight usually suffer from borderline to full blown hypothyroidism. Read on folks.. oh, and eat a little meat once in while too.

The Scientific Secret of Strength and Muscle Growth

Keynote Speaker Darren Hardy: Strive to Fail

Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end. Failure is something we can avoid only by saying nothing, doing nothing, and being nothing. Remember, sometimes you win, sometimes you LEARN.

Are Silent Farts Worse?

If you have the urge to fart and you know it's a loud one, you'll need to proceed with caution unless you want everyone to hear. One way to do this is the let out your fart slowly by squeezing your butt cheeks and then slightly lifting up one cheek to let out your fart. You could end up farting two or three times this way, but it won't be as loud as farting once.
You can use this method to fart whether you're sitting or standing. If you're sitting, just pretend to lean over your desk or whatever is in front of you while you lift up one butt cheek to fart. If you're standing, just lean to one side to lift your other side or.. you can just hold it. Ouch! (Not that I would know..) Remember, everyone farts.

Sleep is Good!

Have I Been Breathing Wrong My Entire Life? Let's Find out..

While breathing 2-3 times more than the medical norm, most people believe that they have good or normal breathing. Some of them even say that they are "barely breathing". But normal breathing is so tiny that healthy people experience nearly no sensations in relation to their breathing at rest.

Over 90% of modern people suffer from breathing problems. The common problems include chest breathing, mouth breathing, and hyperventilation (increased minute ventilation), all of which reduce oxygen levels in body cells and promote chronic diseases.

Tai chi for beginners - Yang Basic 8 step

It is quite shocking sometimes to see how uncoordinated people get as they get older. The saying "use it or loose it" is strikingly obvious as we mature. Why? Because you never know... They showed up ten strong, a full fledged FBI squad, and on the cold morning of July 14 1951 proceeded to lay out each and every one of the strange machines in Mr. Dinshah’s clinic on his lawn. With Sledge hammers they smashed each one of them to pieces as the old man, his patients and his neighbors watched. They wanted to deliver a message and did so. Dinshah, who had spent a lifetime promoting a healthy vegan lifestyle and the healing through color was sentenced to three years in prison. To this day there remains a PERMANENT Federal injunction against the Spectro-Chrome….

FYI: The Coffee Enema mysteriously disappeared from the Merck Manual..

Marco here..  I know, why would anyone want to have coffee in their butt?  I have recommended coffee retention enemas to many people and I have yet to hear about horrible side effects of any kind, although the procedure is somewhat inconvenient, especially at first.  Most people get used to it quickly.  The coffee retention enema is really quite simple, very safe when done properly, highly effective, able to be done in the privacy of your home, and inexpensive. And no, it's not anything I do regularly..

What the Hell is a "Purpose" anyway? Wanna find out?

Marco here.. When you are inspired by a great purpose, everything will begin to work for you. Inspiration comes from moving back in-spirit and connecting to the seven faces of intention. When you feel inspired, what appeared to be risky becomes a path you feel compelled to follow. The risks are gone because you are following your bliss, which is the truth within you. This is really love working in harmony with your intention. Essentially, if you do not feel love, you do not feel the truth, and your truth is all wrapped up in your connection to Spirit. This is why inspiration is such an important part of the fulfillment of your intention to live a life on purpose. Looks as though I need to start practicing what I've been preaching all these years..

Deconstructing CrossFit (And The 3-3-3 Rule For Living Longer)

Interesting.. Living longer doesn't take a lot of time. 30 minutes of vigorous exercise, 3 times a week, reduces your risk of dying of any cause by up to 30%. Think on that!

What if Cannabis Cured (Cancer) Full Version

Marco here.. There is no plant on Earth more condemned than marijuana. We’re talking about a living organism which governments have taken upon themselves to designate as an illegal substance. Despite no existing evidence of anyone ever dying of a marijuana overdose, possession of this plant is still illegal in many parts. Marijuana has been found to suppress cancer, reduce blood pressure, treat glaucoma, alleviate pain and even inhibit HIV. It is an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective. Can you understand more now why it’s illegal?

Ten Benefits of Mary Jane

Grounded! Why Barefoot is Natural.. ( I still love my shoes though)

Marco here and yes, you can be skeptical if you want. Just go outside and sit, stand, or stroll barefoot on grass, sand, dirt, or personally, I like the grass, weather permitting, of course. Do it for a half-hour or so.  Be aware of how you feel before and how you feel after as far as pain or stress is concerned.

It’s a simple experiment that puts you immediately in touch with the Earth’s natural, nurturing electrical energy. (ok, pseudoscience.. LOL) This is the energy that humans have experienced throughout time on a daily basis before they put on rubber- and plastic-soled shoes and stopped sleeping on the ground, and in the process disconnected themselves from an important aspect of Nature. Wow, that read really scientific huh..

Seriously, I prefer sleeping on my bed, but! When I do want to just get away and relax, I enjoy going outside barefoot, do some stretching, yoga or just stand and breathe in the fresh air. For me, it's a wonderful way to put aside the daily rituals and stress of life. Beats alcohol and prozac any day. Oh! And it's free..

Hugs,

Marco

Bed Yoga : Relax and Stretch

Marco here.. getting ready for some sleep! The purpose of evening yoga exercises is to wind down and be serene. Find a spot where distractions are minimal. One of the best places to perform yoga would be outdoors, while barefoot, yes barefoot, where the moon can be seen easily. Under a tree or places where you are surrounded by nature are also ideal. I just go out to the front yard and get my yoga on in the grass. But not tonight, it's 34 degrees, so I'll try Dashama's routine on the ole mattress. And PS: Yoga is not the only thing one can do in bed.. Snuggle time anyone? LOL

Why I never reduce a Fever.. and what to do instead.

Happy New Year! There are several reasons it is better not to reduce a fever. Since fever is part of the body’s natural way of fighting illness or infection, reducing the fever can actually make the illness last longer, as it lets the cause of the illness live for a longer time.

Additionally, most conventional methods of lowering a fever can do more harm than good. Tylenol and Advil (the two medications most often given to children to reduce fever) both have side effects and cause liver failure in adults and children each year, especially when given regularly. Medications are also foreign substances in the body, which must be metabolized and filtered by the body and this takes energy the body could be using to fight the illness.
