Meditation! Keeping Kids out of Trouble. (and prison)
Stress and anxiety can come at kids from all directions. Some live in violent neighborhoods. Others deal with abusive family members. There are kids who are homeless, and kids who feel they don’t have anyone who listens when things are tough. It’s easy to turn to crime, violence, drugs, and alcohol when all other roads are blocked, and a trip to prison can become more and more likely.
While it may seem strange or overly-simplistic to preach the benefits of meditation and mindfulness to people living with such difficult circumstances, the beauty of those practices is that they are available to anyone, and not just the blissed-out do-gooders who are perhaps the stereotype of spiritual seekers.
