According to inactivity researchers, not only do we all need to get more daily exercise, we also need to spend less of our time sitting down.
If you’re already overweight, the effects of sitting are even worse. But even if you’re generally healthy, getting the recommended 30 minutes of aerobic exercise in a day, and a little more activity on weekends, the bad effects of too much sitting outweigh the benefits of mild exercise.
Sitting can shorten your life, increase your risk for breast and colon cancer, and cause fat to build up in your arteries and liver. It contributes to metabolic syndrome and increases your risk for type II diabetes. You get older faster and die younger. Read on below.
